I dunno how many of you are wattpad (I'm seriously not promoting it)
If you have an account there I suggest to read the stories of Richa_Resa, Shakthi ( my one of favorite) and The writer of when the dawn breaks hell hath for women's fury. Shakthi one of the writer is most brilliant in writing on sociasocial issues where as the other Richa if you read her stories you will be too emotional.

And I really like to see SI roles like Dawn break (It's not completed).

I really people not only on IF but at different forums write the stories too beautifully that are really to be seen on Indian television. They have great talent and it makes me sad that these people cannot make it to our tv screens.

I agree, stories of some writers on IF as well as on Wattpad can be adapted for the small screen, provided the makers do justice to the story and show them as it has been written.

And the husband turns out as a jerk (the boyfriend in the book) and leaves her after she gets pregnant. The rest can be the same with little modifications to suit Indian audience.

That might work but I am not sure if the TRP aunties will like FL getting married to ML leaving her 'husband'. Not sure how it works. Maybe her marriage can be arranged but due to some circumstances she gets married to ML but both think that the other likes someone else. Now, that sounds like your usual saas-bahu stories 😛.
Like the other say, this is one story I would like to see as a web series rather than a TV show just to keep the integrity of the story intact.

Yes Indian tv would ruin even the best of best books. But I'd be really glad if there would be web series made with our most favorite books. Because I believe and hope they wouldn't ruin it.
I haven't watched Rivderdale yet but it's supposed to be good, so maybe one day in future. Netflix series are really good. I would trust Netflix to adapt my favorite books into wonderful shows

Riverdale was awesome! Yeah, I would give any book to Netflix. They will do a good job. Full faith in them.

Do you mean Fan Fictions? See, the only issue I have with fan fictions being converted into a show is that they are already based on existing characters. IT would be difficult for us to visualize anyone other than the people it was written based on. Otherwise, I agree, there are a few really good stories that would make great serials.

Me too. I wouldn't want anything to change in the book to suit anybody, the struggle of the FL is and will always be relevant despite the cultural differences. It's one of my favorite books, I am yet to watch the movie because movies due to time constraints end up disappointing readers of the book. I would love web series adaptation of Cecelia Ahern's books, especially Thanks for the Memories, starring Barun and Sanaya.

The movie was good, but not as brilliant as the book. It's a really good watch if someone sees it without having read the book. The thing is, I have seen some movie adaptations without having read the book, but didn't like them at all. This is one which I think didn't entirely spoil the original story. The only movie which has done 99 percent justice to a book has been Gone with the Wind. You should watch it. In my opinion, it's the only romance drama which is near as perfect as the book.

I forgot to mention Gone with the Wind. It should have been the first book which I should have named. Barun sanaya would do justice to the roles. Since Barun has matured and looks more manly and confident now, he would suit the role. Sanaya's bubbly image would suit Scarlett, who can even become fierce and brave. I had watched the movie in my late teens after reading the book, and Rhett Butler became the epitome of sexiness and charm for me. It's widely considered as the only movie adaptation that has stayed true to the book and near perfect.

Exactly .Sanaya will excel as scarlet O'Hara and Barun as Rhett.
Buaji will do well as Mamie
