I forgot to mention Gone with the Wind. It should have been the first book which I should have named. Barun sanaya would do justice to the roles. Since Barun has matured and looks more manly and confident now, he would suit the role. Sanaya's bubbly image would suit Scarlett, who can even become fierce and brave. I had watched the movie in my late teens after reading the book, and Rhett Butler became the epitome of sexiness and charm for me. It's widely considered as the only movie adaptation that has stayed true to the book and near perfect.

Oh to have a story like that on Indian television ❤️
I can absolutely visualize Barun as Rhett but instead of just the mush he would have the beard h sported in Tanhaiyaan-sigh.
I can't see Sanaya as Scarlet though...maybe someone like Jennifer Winget? She'd make a great scarlet I feel.

haha, yeah not the mush! Jennifer Winget would be good too. How is she in scenes which are kind of sassy? or..I can't seem to form the correct work..for example, like the scene where scarlett shows her sass to rhett, not backing down to him and acts sometimes miffed with him, then confused and then gives in reluctantly. Scenes of such kind. I haven't seen Jennifer much except in few scenes in saraswati chandra.

I think she can do sass much better. She can pull off vulnerable yet strong role with elan I feel. Scarlet has so many layers, not all of them white and it would need an actress who can bring that out. I have seen Jennifer in Beyhad and she can definitely do a dark character while looking innocent and vulnerable.

Have you read any Earl Stanley Gardner books? Perry Mason? I used to love those books. I think Braun would make an awesome Perry Mason(a much younger one though). He would be super cool as the dashing lawyer and his faithful, unflappable secretary Della street could be portrayed by Sanaya. To suit Indian audiences they could even have a family for each of them. Would be so nice.

I have watched CBS's old Perry Mason series of the 60s. Sadly, I haven't read them. Now, that you've mentioned, I'll get read them for sure. Barun and sanaya would rock in them. A criminal lawyer/detective would be an amazing role for barun that I really wish to see him in.

Perry Mason,Paul Drake and Della are my favourite characters.I have a good collection of these books.I am happy to see that many of us share the aptitude for same books.
I like Georgette Heyer books especially Beauvallet
Then Gypsy lover of another author.
Eastlynne is another classic

I like Georgette Hyer too but I cannot imagine any of her stories being made into a show. 😛

oh I saw GWTW being discussed so have to say something about that...IMO neither sanaya nor jenny would suit...mainly because of the age thing...scarlett was 16(I think) when the book started.
I don't think barun can pull off a Rhett Butler either...physique or acting wise...I would like to see somebody like mohit raina try a rhett.

Since the topic is about which role sanaya and/or barun would suit...hmm I guess I can see them as the protagonists of Those Pricey Thakur Girls...I think even in this book the protagonist is younger than sanaya can look but I think in this story ages can be adjusted a bit unlike GWTW.
