Gajar ka halwa with til

Did anyone else notice Arjun's mother saying she had prepared Arjun's favourite dish, which was gajar ka halwa with til? Mahi said it was Yash's favorite dish. Is there a connection or is it just a coincidence? In serials, there are rarely coincidences. But I can't figure out any relation between the two.
