And anyway that face up there might not have makeup, make up but that face structure, the eyelids, the full lips, themselves are not her own. Her face bone structure was much more broader. Just pull out any page relating to her movie Players, and any other where she doesn't have a kilo of makeup and counturing.

She had her own face maybe up to before that film before the one with Ayesha khurrana but in that film onwards, she has come with her new face and people started saying she is beautiful..

The work is subtle but it has enhanced her face immensely. From broad her face has become bony and long. Features immensely sharper. There are airport pictures of her REALLY her natural self, so putting this picture isn't being honest.

So she changed her face with procedures? Made her face narrower? Or did the weight loss did it?
She doesn't mention cosmetic procedures and surgeries here, only hair, makeup and diet

And yes, everyone knows this nowadays it's nothing new or revolutionary, many celebrities have said this maybe this is first for an an Indian movie star

Nowadays everybody including a 13 yr old knows this (if she follows fashion and celebrities)

Maybe that 13 yr old would like Sonam's wardrobe and gazes wistfully at her expensive gowns and thinks I am beautiful too, why can't I have her life? I deserve that... What does Sonam suggest parents should say to her?

Anyway not sure if most people think Sonam (or most current stars) are flawless or awe inspiring looks wise

The criticism often is, despite so many people tending to their grooming and beauty, spending so much money on designer clothes, they end up looking so-so (Although Sonam wears them better than most BW actresses)

Btw parents constantly telling children they're beautiful and special, has created a self absorbed and narcissistic generation according to experts

Never mind Bollywood, the TV industry is full of actors actresses with perfectly chiselled faces and inscrutable expressions these days.
When people can afford to change a feature or enhance something they don't like, some go to the lengths of plastic surgery for it.

Example, Sridevi. Those procedures were not available when she was reigning. Look at her now. Her weight can fluctuate but her face will not gain accordingly.

For people whose livelihood is in showbusiness, and the arclights on them, there is a compulsive fear of looking worse than their competitor.

I always thought Sonam was pretty but make up enhanced her looks even more, but I've seen those sudden changes in actresses too many times to not notice her going from average to genuinely beautiful from a string of films to the next.for her IMO it was that movie with Ayush khurrana. It was magazine shoots everything.
She never had deep eyelids like those, which now EVERY actress has thanks to cosmetic procedures.

Losing weight and getting facial surgery at the same time. is a trick they all use. Actors, actresses, models. Then it becomes less noticeable. And by the time they put weight back on, people don't notice as much.

No way was Karan Johar ever having cutting edge model cheekbones and facial structure and luscious lips. It's all thanks to technology.

And if the effects wear off, they appear once or twice in photos and off it is to get it fixed. Fillers, lifting. Eyebags whatever.

Even Raveena Tandon who once when asked said she would never undergo the knife. Now years later, she has succumbed. No way is her present face due to some magical cream or exercise.

It's OK. Everyone's choice. What irks me is her putting up a photo post surgery and pretending to pass it off as her 'natural' face and tweaking and restructuring.

Even if they never alter their face with surgery or procedures there are stuff like microdermabrasion, laser treatments etc. which are done at regular intervals to smooth and even out the skin...

So she could've mentioned those too...

But have to give credit to Sonam, atleast in this pic she appears truely makeup free (I can't detect anything) except patches of unblended concealer all over her face

Bcz I have seen some celebrity pics where they're supposedly makeup free

But a trained eye can detect concealer, mascara, even some color on the lips... But total novice might not...

Or I've seen make up instructions on books, magazines where they're supposedly wearing only lipgloss and mascara and appear lovely, but you can detect concealer and stuff... That is very deceptive...

Kudos to sonam for talking about this. I remember as a young girl wishing for the flawless skins and looks of those in the magazines, and I remember it driving my looks insecurities. So this is a very positive and empowering message that Sonam is sending out to teen girls. 👏
