You have to understand that Sonam didn't always have this body and she's still working hard (sport and diet) to maintain what she achieved. Also, at one point she was there alongside Deepika, Priyanka, Anushka and Kareena (size zero phase) which had great bodies while she felt she was lacking. She also deemed as unsexy by Ranbir at that time and that must be why it hurt her when he said that.
So I think she does come from a place where she once was this insecure young girl

The actress frankly admits that she was not a candidate for bikini. Sonam says I refuse to wear a bikini. I have a saggy rear, I have cellulite, I said in an interview recently that assets are not very nice so... I recently fit into a size 2 dress, which is great because I was size 16 once.
She ended up doing a bikini scene in Bewakoofiyaan when she became more confortable with her body.
