Everyone sat in silence, as the family was left alone in their home finally after the auction. The silence awkward. Everyone had regrets and guilt deep down in their hearts. He entered and smiled. Received none in response. They all looked at him as though someone was dead.
He disappeared from the living hall calling Omkara behind him. Soon the duo were back. Bending down all by themselves there they were wiping away the line that their parents had got made.
In tears everyone smiled. He smiled back hugging his brothers. Soon everyone retired after the tiring day. While the brothers were joking around the pool. Something they always did, and immensely missed during the past few days.
He entered the room smiling. She looked at him and smiled slightly. She handed him his clothes for the night, he smiled accepting it.

What sadness is it that you are hiding?
Her smile drooped once the washroom's door clicked shut. She had mastered the art of reading his eyes, and the tension behind his smile. He should know by now.
He appeared back, the smile still on. She simpered lightly. "Can we sit by the pool for sometime ?" She asked simply. She knew he wouldn't be able to sleep anyway.
He nodded, putting his hand around her waist he walked out.
"The stars look good don't they?" He asked looking up.
She simply stared at him. She could see the little moisture in his eyes he was trying to blink away. She could feel the effort he took to keep his smile up.

"Shivaay?"
"Hmm" he responded still seeing up.
"How did you arrange for the money? The meeting was fake, then how did you..!?"
"Anika. Everything's back in hands, all is okay." He said sweetly.
"What about you?"
"What about me? What do you mean?" He asked looking at her strangely.
She traced her finger below his eyes." I know you, when you cry I feel the pain. Why are there tears still in your eyes? Everything is not okay. You have made everything look okay so that the others are okay. But you are not okay, we are not okay!"
He quietly took his hand away from around her shoulders and looked up at the sky, "Anika you are simply worrying!"
"Kyun chupa rahe hai ye aasoon? Ek baat phir se aap chup chaap se akele zeher pee rahe hain. Sabko amrit pila ke"
He always did that, living up to his name. He would silently save the problems aside and hand over all the happiness to his family and then sit in silent nights fighting all those problems alone in the dark of night. Where no one could see his tears no one could figure out his pain. But, she was with him now!

"Anika! You are just overreacting alright. There is nothing- of that sort!"
"Then why aren't you looking into my eyes and saying that?" She asked simply.
"Yaar. Kuch nahi hai. Smajhi tum. San theek hai. Main bol raha hoon naa. San theek hai."
She took a step forward and places her hand on his chest, feeling his heartbeats. She gently placed her head against his chest as tears streamed down her cheeks.
"You can't lie to me!"
He slammed his eyes shut. He couldn't hide anything from her.He hugged her back.
Breaking apart he asked her to cheer up. Everything was okay. She was tired listening to it again.
"I have the right to your problems as well Shivaay!" She argued.
"Enough. Anika. I said there is nothing. " he spoke in a raised voice. Looking away. He couldn't put her life in danger once again.

She simply stared at him. His words did hurt. But, she was used to it now. For she knew somewhere in her heart he dint mean them. His battle within him was making him say those.
"Let's go...!" She held his Hans took him back inside.
She kept staring at him as she lay beside him her head over his shoulder. She ran her fingers over his face and closed his eyes. Her hand gently caressing his hair. He held on to her arms feeling protected.

You are losing to fate.
She kissed his head. The entire night she soothed him with her gentle caresses and occasional kisses while he slept carefree in her protection. Maube just for a few hours but there were no troubles around him. Because there she was his Knight in Shining Armour.
Little did he know that with every breath she took that night, she whispered into the ears of destiny to fight her instead of him! With every heartbeat she asked for all his troubles to be hers.

I used to listen to this song when I was young because my dad would listen to it during nights. Jagit Singh Jii's voice, from his bhajans to ghazals is something I grew up listening to.😳
Recently the song's unplugged version was released in the voice of Papon. ❤️
