I have only seen a few on this list... I didn't realize 50 first dates, Eternal Sunshine, Royal Tenenbaums are about loneliness... Esp the first two movies I thought were about single people dating

It's been a long time, maybe I forgot the plot

Not Bollywood.. But there is an amazing Marathi film called Killa. Do watch it!

Actually, Bollywood has made films a few decent films about loneliness. The Lunchbox and Aligarh are a couple people have named. Waiting also plays on loneliness when a loved one is ill. Astitva was about a lonely housewife having affairs. In general, Bollywood has tackled loneliness amidst widows, housewives, elderly folks etc as at least characters or subplots.

In commercial cinema "Dear Zindagi" is all about a young girls abandonment issues. Loneliness is not always literal. People can be lonely even when they have family and friends.

Not hard to find BW songs with the word Tanhai 😊

Just found out there's even a movie called "Tanhai" must be an obscure, low budget movie

About Schmidt (2002) - Not many people have heard about this movie

Jack Nicholson (Is there anything this guy couldn't play convincingly) plays a retiree who has lost his wife recently... He travels alone to attend his estranged daughter's wedding

It's a sad but not totally depressing movie about loneliness of older people, how they feel unwanted and unloved which is a universal theme

Kathy Bates tries to get into the hot tub naked with him 😆
