His obsession for Avni z real.
There's no other reason why he would dress up as Santa & dance with Avni, since if his sole purpose was to fake the obsession & hurt Neil, then in that attire neil can't even know its Vidyut.

The way I look at it, Vidyut fell for Avni because of her beauty AND fierceness since she is the first woman to give him a neck to neck competition ..

So his obsession began from there.

Now pair it up with the fact that he knows Avni z married to his arch rival Neil Khanna & this in itself makes the game more interesting for Vidyut as he gets more adrenaline pumped simply because winning this would not only mean winning the woman he wants but also rejoicing in the defeat of the man he hates the most (Neil Khanna).

The guy grew up rejoicing the torture of birds & fishes before killing them, so in this case too he is indirectly (or directly) killing Neil every day, as Neil has to endure the pain of being without his Avni and Vidyut's craziness will reach its culmination the day he gets Avni, thus, hitting two jackpot with just one stone.

Here, Avni is a leverage but the only difference is she is a leverage who *matters* .. both to Vidyut and Neil in their arch rivalry.

if obsession is true then it's very dangerous.. yuck that painting, it was really cheapo. Clearly looks just lust. Holy cow Neil was so calm 😕

I agree with your observation.

Also, I feel that Neel is being a little insensitive about Avni's emotions. I understand about his protective instinct for Avni, so I'm not talking about Jail drama. I'm talkin about his behaviour with Monica and trying to make Avni jealous.
I just don't understand this. It is just not justified
