@Simi, you know something I appreciate and admire about Neela maa and Avni's bond is Neela Maa's ability to read Avni, she understands her emotions, her facade of being strong when really she is breaking inside. After Neil, it is Neela Maa who knows Avni like no one does. The Neela maa I know would come up with a perfect solution every time to subdue the raging emotions...getting her married to Neil is a perfect example of this. For me their bond reinforces the fact that you need not be related by blood to be able to understand and wholeheartedly treat someone as your own. It's not even about being Avni's mother or Neil's...they both see her as their mother and no doubt her love for them is equal. But I fail to understand why (in the recent episodes) she is able to understand Neil so well but she failed to see the hollowness in Avni's eyes, the bottling up of emotions and a storm so big inside her it could annihilate all of them!
I am someone who doesn't only watch the show for the leads, I watch for all characters, full experience types you know lol...so I really appreciate good meaningful growth and consistency in all characters.
I DO NOT at all wish to bash Neela maa, this is more so due to my desire to see consistency in my favorite characters. And I know, we've seen very little of her post leap, it's only been a week so we can't form a solid opinion as of now but still I believe in discussing what works for us and what doesn't on social platforms openly...maybe the creatives read and appreciate the feedback? Who knows.
I am not a writer and I will probably be a fail writer lol, these guys are great at what they do, thus, someone like myself who is not loyal AT ALL towards ITV shows (I have stuck around for less than 8 months for all my previous ITV shows) so being the cheating viewer that I am, I have liked this show and found it gripping enough to stick around for I believe a year now! However, there are scenes from last night's episode which I believe could have been executed differently. I for one, would have loved to see Neela Maa telling Avni something along the lines Neil asks about you' or he wants to see you'. I know he swore her to secrecy, but if she never probes how will she understand the underlying hurt and the hollowness? If Avni doesn't get talking and sharing her pain with her mother how will she ever heal and down the track understand and accept Neil in her life again?
