Chuck Norris, widely known for his action films and television work, has died at the age of 86 following a recent hospitalisation. His family confirmed the news through a statement on his official Instagram account, describing the loss as deeply personal.

“It is with heavy hearts that our family shares the sudden passing of our beloved Chuck Norris yesterday morning. While we would like to keep the circumstances private, please know that he was surrounded by his family and was at peace,” the statement read.

Norris built a long career in action cinema and television, gaining recognition through projects like Walker Texas Ranger. He also appeared in films such as Lone Wolf McQuade, Code of Silence and The Way of the Dragon, where he shared screen space with Bruce Lee. Over the years, he became associated with martial arts based roles and disciplined screen characters.

“He lived his life with faith, purpose, and an unwavering commitment to the people he loved. Through his work, discipline, and kindness, he inspired millions around the world and left a lasting impact on so many lives (sic),” the family added in the note.

According to reports, Norris had been hospitalised in Hawaii on March 19. Just days before that, he had shared a video on social media marking his 86th birthday. In the clip, he was seen training and boxing, appearing active and in good spirits.

Born as Carlos Ray Norris in 1940 in Oklahoma, he spoke openly about his early life challenges. In past interviews, he had discussed his father’s alcoholism and its impact. “It wasn’t until my dad came home from WW II that he really started to drink,” he had said earlier.
