lol okay it's all over Twitter now...SRK and the CEO of Netflix announcing the series. Best of luck to Shah 👏
SRK and Reed are like this now 😎
Mumbai, Nov 17 Shah Rukh Khan's Red Chillies Entertainment and streaming service Netflix are working on original series, based on the book, "Bard of Blood".
Penned by the young Indian author, Bilal Siddiqi the book will adapted to an eight-episode high-octane political espionage thriller series.
"We have always tried to create world class content and entertainment from India. Netflix has shown that Indian stories have a global audience and we would love to use this platform and its reach to tell more stories," Shah Rukh said in a statement.
Set against the backdrop of the Indian subcontinent, the multilingual series will tell the story of an expelled spy, Kabir Anand who is recalled from his new life as a Shakespeare professor in Panchgani to save his country and long-lost love.
The series will be shot on location and the characters will interact in Hindi, Urdu, English and other languages.
"We believe in the global vision of Red Chillies to create groundbreaking content out of India. It's exciting to deepen our relationship with Red Chillies and expand our slate of originals in India.
"We are thrilled to work with a brilliant, young writer like Bilal Siddiqi and take his gripping, inventive storytelling to Netflix members worldwide," said Reed Hastings, Netflix Founder and CEO.

Shah and Reed's little video was really cool 😆
I haven't read the book, but the concept does sounds interesting. Would be looking forward to the project
The story begins in Balochistan, in the year 2014, with four Indian spies being captured by Mullah Omar- leader of one of the deadliest terrorist clans of Pakistan. On the verge of their beheading, Omar is stopped by another force to reckon with the ISI, who seem to have a better and more cruel plan to get even with the Indians. With this begins a fast tale of bravery, adrenaline rush and sacrifices which are definitely the three main components of a brilliant story.
The book revolves around Kabir Anand, an ex-RAW agent who had to forcefully leave the organisation after a disastrous mission in Balochistan in 2006, and who was forcefully brought back to carry out another mission in Balochistan. This is his time to avenge not just his defamation, but also the death of his mentor and father figure Sadiq Sheikh. Despite a number of characters and several location changes (New Delhi to Balochistan to Mumbai to Ahmedabad) the book moves with a fast speed and smooth understanding.
From reviews it seems like commercial book like chetan bhagat's.
Let's see when it arrives.
