Chapter 14

" a request to all the contestant and audience to maintain silence as with in five minutes we will recording I heard the assiatant cameraman announcing this but it hardly mattered to me as I was already on mute mode . what happened last night had put my brain on up and down because all I could think after leaving khanna house is how this year too he broke my fast . why it happened , I mean in this whole world why I land up with him in such situations . last year it was a considence but this year too mata rani , kya bolna chahti hai aap yeh sab karwa ke( oh god , what you wanna say with making all this happen)' I asked god in my mind. " mehek , mehek rahul shook me while calling me. " haan " I asked being completely lost in my self. " kya soch rahi hai , mehek . kab se bula raha hoon tujhe main ( what are you thinking mehek. I m calling you from so long) asked rahul. With his words I realized how lost I am in my thoughts . sorry rahul , woh kuch dimag uljha hua tha( my brain was little messed up) I replied. "Chal apne dimag ko saaf kar aur mujhe good luck wish kar ( okay , now clear your mind and wish me luck) he said with a nervousness in his voice but a smile on his face . I could judge his little fear . I got up from my seat and side hugged him saying " all the best , just be yourself in the kitchen. The moment I said this I saw shaurya khanna entering the sets from back stage . he was busy on phone and then his eyes met mine . I could see his scruitinizing gaze on me . I broke my hug with rahul and shifted my gaze from shaurya to rahul . I started having a weird feeling suddenly . like something making me restless and anxious . I decided to shed these all thought . my cousins were wishing rahul now. " all the best rahul, ja chak de fate boy said nehal . " aur haan yaad rakhiyo ,mujhe tere ghar main roti chahiye( and yes remember , I want roti in your house ) said mohit in a dramatic way copying himesh reshamiya. Even rahul joined him " jai mata di , lets rock he said a bit loud enough to grab attention of the person who has created a hovac in my mind . " itna josh cooking main bhi dikhana , contestant no 7 ( show thus much enthusiasm in cooking too , contestant no 7 ) shaurya taunted rahul in a loud voice from a distance . rahul just gave a sheep smile to that and said bye to us before leaving when again he passed another comment " aur agar apki so called boost up talk aur hugs khatam ho gayi ho toh , kitchen area main wapas aa jao( if your boost up talks and hugs are done , then come back to kitchen area) he said that to rahul while his eyes were on me . all the technical people started with their last minute bits . contestant were being prepared , make up artist were doing their job . while all all this was happening I saw a girl approaching shaurya and the moment he acknowlededge her presence , he passed his most charming smile to her . they were quite far from me to even guess what possibaly they were talking but one thing I was able to judge , he was very friendly with her . " di , tujhe dikhayi thi na woh ladki neha kal maine phone pe.( di I showed a girl yesterday on my phone , neha) she is that girl said nehal clinging to me. Okay so she is the same girl who is talking to shaurya presently . " shaurya is having fan moment said nehal while giggling and digging more in me. I just pushed her aside . being irritated for no reason . " okay we are going on record said the camera man . with that the spots light went on and the show host welcomed all . she gave a recall about last episode and how only 12 contestant are left . she then asked the judges about the next round . this time rajiv sir addressed everyone about it . it will be team round and each contestant will team up with an other contestant and together will prepare dishes from items given to each team . then step forward mr shaurya khanna who asked each contestant to come forward and pick one chit from the bowl " each these chit has a number from 1 to 6 , with two chits having same number . contestant with same chit no will be teamed up " explained shaurya . one by one each contestant came and picked a chit . at last every one was aksed to show their chit . rahul's chit no was 5 and his team mate was that same girl neha. Looks like she is everywhere , I thought .

Once all the teams were decided . shaurya called each team forward and gave each team some ingredients to make a dish . rahuls team was third one . shaurya forward the ingredients . as rahul lifted the lid of the pan shaurya asked neha " so neha name your ingredients. The girl replied in an overly excited voice " cheese , beef and egg . " that's right " he said in reply. I could already see rahul in deep thought . " so rahul , kya chal raha hai apke dimag main en ingredients ko dekh kar ( whats running in your mind seeing these ingredients ), share it with us too . Asked shaurya . " sir mere dimag main ek dish hai toh sahi ( sir I have a dish in my mind ) but I am little scared to mix one ingredient with the other two replied rahul being a little tensed . " well make sure that all these three ingredients should be the main ingredients . other wise you can lose points shaurya pointed out that . after that every team was given their ingredients and were asked to be on work . the scenario of ISC competing time is thrilling , paced and makes us go nervous . I saw Rahul and neha discussing something and then they started thier work . " di tujhe kya lagta hai Rahul kya bana raha haga( what do you tink di , what Rahul would be making ) asked nehal. My mind was there only . looking at his working I was trying to figure that out. " nehal, I think he is making something with beef and cheese as a stuffing I replied looking at the kitchen area only. " but how will he use egg as main ingredient asked nehal. " dekhte hai nehal , kya karte hai ye dono( lets see nehal , what these two will do . in between I felt Rahul and neha were having a dispute on the dish. Shauya came to them at that moment . he was talking to them , may be knowing there views . " ye tano ka shehensha , kya kar raha hai waha pe( what this taunt king is doing there) asked mohit in a worried tone. " chup mohit( shut up mohit) I replied . I saw Rahul was bit worried now . as shaurya walked from them . he looked into my direction . I looked back at him . the flashes of yesterday striked me . I looked away from him for some time. When I looked back at Rahul shaurya had already gone from there . Rahul had his eyes shut . "come one contestants , only 20 minutes left announced shaurya . Rahul is like this when he is worried or strucked somewhere . now I was worried . Rahul opened his eyes and started working again . he was stress I could say from his gestures . I was looking at him only so that if one time he looks at me , I could say him to relax but I found him so engrossed in his work , he was having few disagreement with neha and that was freaking him out . Rahul is a cool person but when he doesn't get pleasant working partner he gets stress . I wish he looks at me . " di , Rahul panic ho raha hai shayad ( di Rahul is getting panic ) said nehal. Her words made me more nervous . " Rahul , ek bar meri taraf dekh le bas ( Rahul look at me once ) I said slowly. " di tu kya chak de ka climax recreate kar rahi hai ( di , why are you recreating chak de's climax scene) , Rahul meri taraf dehho , meri taraf dekho( Rahul, look at me , look at me .) he said imitating SRK from chak de scene. I just ignored him but he didn't. " Rahul mohit shouted. " mohit pagal hai kya tu ( are you mad) I scolded him. I noticed every single person on the set was looking at us only . I felt stupid at mohits deeds . mohit passed an embarrassed smile and said, " sorry. I finally noticed that Rahul was looking at us . he asked me what moving his head . I signaled him to just relax and take a deep breath and he did . after keeping his eyes closed for few seconds , he opened them and gave me a assuring smile and then again got into his cooking . I smiled at that and was happy as he looked fine . I turned with my smiling face left and saw shaurya khnaana standing little ahead from judges counter , staring at me with a frowned face . why he stares at me like I did something unpleasant to him , I wonder. I just moved my gaze from him. still I could feel him eyes on me .

It was time for tasting . already three teams have presented there an only one team was well appreciated by judges specially shaurya khanna. Now it was Rahul and neha's turn . " explain what you two made asked rajiv sir . " sir these are beef and cheese cigar . we have used beef and cheese as stuffing , coating the flour sheets with egg batter and have baked them. Explained neha. Rajiv sir noded with a smile and all three judges tasted it. While they were analyzing the taste , I could read it was well taken by their taste buds . they were study it more while chewing it . " the taste is good said mrs aggarwal . " when I put in mouth I get crisp layer followed by melting cheese, which is mouth watering and then comes the beef . in all , a nice nonveg snack explained rajiv sir . I was so happy hearing all this till " but I didn't get the egg taste I heard from shaurya khanna. " your dish is good , infact the best I tasted till now , but taste of one of your given ingredient is missing he elaborated . " sir we have used egg in coating the cigars from inside " Rahul said . " I know , but I did not had its taste he said narrowing his eyes . " it would have been better , if you would have used eggs outside , so I could have got its taste , ur cheese didn't let me have its taste. I had worn you about the same earlier shuarya said giving a nassy look . Rahul didn't said anything further . he looked worried ,so was I . " next dish please he announced calling the next team . after this whole time I was looking at Rahul. He was standing with a low face I know how important this ISC is for him , he can't afford to loose it. After tasting all the teams dishes , it was time for result . nehal held my hand and asked " di Rahul save hoga na( di Rahul will be saved na?) . I just palced my hand on her hold. From six teams already two were saved and Rahul was not saved till now. " now only two more teams will be saved and rest 4 contestants from 12 will go home announced shaurya . I was just looking at shaurya for hearing rahuls name . " mithali and asha he announced with that my heart started racing more . I looked at Rahul , he still had his eyes closed . I know this tension build up , I had experienced it . my eyes were again on shaurya now . " please shaurya say Rahul's name I whispered to myself . just at that moment he turned his eyes on me and said " neha and Rahul. I took a long breath " yes I heard mohit . shuarya was still looking at me . I was smiling wide after hearing this and he gave pleasant look, to my surprise . I looked at Rahul , who was being hugged by neha . he looked at me and gave me a big relaxing smile . " all the eight saved contestant , be ready for the next round said shaurya before giving signal to host to wrap up .

We were outside the set celebrating Rahul's little victory with ice-cream. " yaar mujhe pehle se hi dar raha tha ki shayad egg ka taste utna nahi aayega .(I was scared from starting only that , egg taste will not come), shaurya warned me about it when he came to me in between the competition. I didn't know he wanted me to use the egg outside . said Rahul said with a liitle low face . " lets bygones be bygones . yaar nehal advised . " yes , ,miti pa te ice cream kha( forgets about padst and eat ice cream) said mohit with joy. I laughed on mohits comment suddenly I heard " miss Sharma from behind . shaurya khanna called me . I looked at him . he had that same annoyed look , like something irritated him. I excused myself from my siblings and walked few metres to shuarya who was standing in front of his car, with icecream in my hand. This would be our first face to face talk after our karwa chauth encounter . I don't know why I was restless . "yes sir I asked as I reached him . " mehek Sharma , tell ur family members not to get too excited on the test , like your brother did today he said. All my restlessness flyed away and I was again had one feeling for him . he is a jerk . this man can't give me a moment of peace . I was holding my icecream with a sulked up face . " okay sir I said being hell annoyed with him again . I noticed his eyes . he was staring at my face , to be more specific on my lips which made me nervous . I wanted to leave that place immediately " are we done sir , can I leave I asked . he pointed his finger on my face , looking at the same place . " what " I asked annoyed being pissed off from his continous stares . looked like my tone made him angry . he took out a hankerchief from his pocket and offered me saying " joker nahi dikhna hai toh wipe your face( if you don't wanna look like a joker, then wipe your face). I still didn't get him . he took sigh and closed his eyes . I was amused on his behavior . what he is doing ? I questioned in my mind. He opened his eyes took a step closer and was bringing the hankerchief near to my lips . I moved back " yeh kya kar rahe ho( what are you doing) I asked instantly . he raised his eyebrow and then showed a mocking smile " kya hai na , I like cleanness. Toh tumhare face par lage ice cream saaf karne ke liye tumhe hanki de raha tha, ( actually , I like cleanness . so I was offering a hankerchief to you to wipe it), you small little kid . he said . I touched my lips corner and felt wet on the left side . I was embarrassed . I took the hankerchief and wiped my face . he looked at me amusedly . " main aapko bad main saaf karke de dungi( I will give you after cleaning this ) I said . " no need . I don't lack them he was walking away after saying this when my words halted him. " kisi ka rumal nahi rakhte, ladai ho jati hai( we should not keep anyone's hankerchief , it cause fight) I said . he turned and had a smirk on his face . now I was amused . " don't you think we already are in the fight zone mehek Sharma , or do you think that this hankerchief return will stop these he said taunting me . " I don't like fighting with you I said in return . hearing this he had a change in his eyes . he smiled and said " so you don't like to fight with me " in a husky and flirty tone stepping towards me. I didn't expected that response . our eyes were locked . I stepped back and he step forward to me. I felt nervous and hollowness in my stomach. His move made me feel weak . I had to responed urgently " I don't like fighting with anyone. It be you and any other I said in a low voice . my words stoped him from proceeding . his smirk was over took by his pressed lips. He took the hankerchief back in a frustrated mode and commented " then I should definitely take this back . I looked at him being amused what he meant but before I could ask . he turned and drove his car , leaving the sets. " aeeb aadmi hai( weird man he is ) I said to myself .

Two days later

I entered the sets of ISC and was discussing about todays round with moushmi. " you have taken the history of the family members of contestant who are gonna participate today with them . due to lack of time I couldn't check it personally . was busy with german project . I told rajiv to check along with you I asked her . she stoped mid way . I turned to watch why she stoped . from her face it was clear she was annoyed from me. " I am just rechecking I said . " shaurya we also work that too with same sincerity and dedication as you do she taunted me and started walking . I followed her silently . she always will have this hatred feeling for me as something that I did to her few years ago . will not say I was wrong on my part but when I see the change in her behavior towards me , I do feel I wronged her . she was like a sister to me . " this is the summary of contestant with their family member said moushmi giving us notepads . " like planned firstly you will tell about the todays competition theme , that's is family. Then one by one all the 8 contestant will introduce the family members . then you give tast to every contestant with the twist in your tale she brief us all . we all started checking the details . I was going through information about contestants realtives . from which I came to know that Rahul has brought mehek Sharma as his family member. Like in all this world he didn't have any other person to call. " mehek Sharma is gonna team up with Rahul " said mrs aggarwal , the third judge. " well I am excited then commented rajiv . " we re here to judge contestant , not to see what their family members can do I commented back to rajiv. " lets get started I said and moved to judges panel saying the host to start.

After explain todays round theme , now we were calling each contestant with their family member . it was Rahul's turn now and mehek Sharma dressed up in black color suit salwar was coming along with mr phian. " well you all know mehek , how she is related to you Rahul asked rajiv and Rahul started his mehek saga " in terms of blood relatives I have my younger brother arjun only , who is studing in boarding school . mehek is not related to me by blood but she is my family . its been one year I know mehek and I know that in this world mehek is among the people who genuinely cares for me . she is enough was that for me , I interrupted him " yes we all know mehek Sharma . she is quite popular among all as I said this I could notice how offended mehek and Rahall both were feeling . I ignored it. " well lets give them their task. Family member will taste the dish in one minute only and will guess the dish I explained . a spot boy brought the dish and kept it infront of mehek . she looked miffed may be due to my words. She picked the spoon and took a morsel . Rahul was asked to stand few feets apart . she first tasted its aroma as every chef would have done and seeing her scruitining eye look , I knew she was judging the ingredients . I thought to play a little with her " its vegetarian only , mehek Sharma .only egg is used . we know that about you ki aap anda khane wale vegetarian hain( that you ae an egg eating vegetatian " I smirk as I said this . I hurd people laughing on that comment of mine . she looked at me with dagger eyes . I liked her irkness . she took a small bite and chewed it slowly tasting it layer by layer . she was taking her own time , look like she grinded every last part to judege every ingredient . it was red velvet pizookie . Mehek just tasted two times only and seeing the smile on her face it was clear she knows what to make . " done sir she said confidently and with this I know she is definitely gonna make Rahul win this round . she moved back and another contestant stepped forward.

Once every contestant was given their task . they all head up to supermarket area to collect the items . all were running to collect their items . the thing about mehek is that she never panics while she is in kitchen . she has already discussed her required items with Rahul . she was the second one to bring her ingredients in kitchen and start their work . I thought of seeing wheather she missed any item or not . so I walked to the work station of contestant . mehek and Rahul were on third station . I went to first two contestant after little chit chatting with them I went straight to mehek Sharma station . she was so engrossed in her work that she didn't noticed me. I looked at her items she had everything she needed to make the dish . it would be very simple for Rahul to win this time with mehek by her side . I thought to make this win little difficult for her . " so contestant no 7 what are you making I asked making mehek to notice my presence . she turned back . " sir as per mehek . you gave us red velvet pizookie to make so we have Preheat oven to 350 degree. we have mixed cream butter until it became light & fluffy then we Added eggs & are blending it . then we will Scrape the bowl, Will Add Red Velvet Cake Mix & flour, slowly, until incorporated. Will add chocolate chips. Will Press dough onto the bottom of a greased round cake pan. Baking it for 9-10 minutes until its done till a soft and gooey and will garnish it with vanilla bean ice cream. Choclate cuts Rahul explained . with that I know they were clear with their dish and with meheks hand in them its gonna taste delicious . " are you sure mehek that you have all what you need " I asked her creating doubt in her mind . she looked at me with narrow eyebrows " yes sir I think I have everything she said with a shattered confidence. " are you certain about that. Kahin over confidence main aap kuch miss toh nahi kar rahi( due to your over confidence aren't you missing anything ) I had a smirk on my face while saying that . she looked at with confusion and then with a deep thought said " as per my taste I have everything ,plus I know this dish . I don't think I left ... she stoped in mid way and looked at me with suspicious eyes . Suddenly a saw a clever smile on her face . I was surprised. she folded her hands in front of her chest and stepped forward " I know your tricks sir. Aap ke saath kam karte karte , ab main apko ache se jan chuki hoon( working with you, I know you very well now) she said with a sparkle in her eyes and charming smile on her face . even I had a smililar expression thinking that she has become a little smart. We were looking at each other only when rajiv's announcement broke our stance " 20 minutes gone contestant and 40 minutes left she looked at judeges panel hearing his voice andi was looking at her . " all the best then I said and moved . she did looked at my moving back.

" Now 20 minutes left contestants hurry up I announced . mehek and Rahall were few minutes ahead of time . they were making garnishing items while waiting for their baking to be done and then only paltting was left . I thought to take a round in order to help any contestant . this time I didn't approached mehek she was already ahead . I was checking every contestant in between I gave some people the required advice . I reached neha's station which was next to meheks station . I did chat with her for few minutes . she took a spoon of her dish and brought it in front of me. " sir please taste it and tell your views " she said in sweet tone . " no neha I can't taste it , now " I sad steeping back when I bumped into someone. " awww came in a loud voice, it was mehek. I tuned back and saw mehek crying holding her bleeding finger . I was shocked " mehek , tu thikh hai ( are you okay) asked Rahul being hell worried . I step closer to her . " ahhh ... she cried in pain . I pulled my hankerchief and took her finger and pressed it with hanky in order to stop the bleeding . she closed her eyes and I knew she is in pain . her winced troubled me more . " neha I told you not to I shouted at her without turning back . mehek opened her eyes . she looked at me with moist eyes . she tried to pull her hand from my grip but I holded on to it . her pain holded our gaze on each other . "I am sorry sir . I didn't know this will happen . I am sorry mehek she said in an appolegetic tone. We heard her but ignored her. " mehek are you okay asked rajiv . " di kya hua , dikh hai tu ( what happen di, you are okay?) their worried questions made my hold loose and she pulled her hand with my hankerchief on it . " main dikh hoon . bas choti sa cut lag gaya hai chocolate crush karte hue( I am fine , its just a small cut I got while cutting chocolate layer ) mehek replied with a shaking voice . " mehek at least dressing karwale( mehek at least get the dressing done) said Rahul. " call the medical team said rajiv . the medical team arrived and they took her for dressing . mohit and nehal went along with her . I watched her leaving . " okay people not to worry , things are under control . lets get back to work announced rajiv. I was looking on the door from where miss Sharma exited . " sir it will be okay if mehek doesn't came . the work is done almost . she can rest. " asked Rahul politely. " yeah , ofcourse I replied without looking at him .

" just 10 minutes left contestants , starting wraping up announced mrs aggarwal . its been 5 minutes I didn't see mehek . nehal and mohit have returned . nehal asked the permission to help Rahul in place of mehek and we agreed . Rahul has already started his platting part . though I thought I would be making this competition hell for Rahul but I know with mehek his side it was not possible plus with mehek getting hurt , I had no such further motive . " I hope mehek is okay said rajiv. " I will go and check her saying that I went outside . I saw her from distance she was getting an injection . I rushed to her . " what injection you gave her , is she that critical ? I asked the nurse who was attending mehek . mehek was rubbing her arm where she was injected . " not to worry , it is just TT injection. Given to every patient with open injuries " she replied . " you can go now she said to mehek . mehek stood up from her chiar and was about to take a step when I holded her from her forearm stopping her " where are you going. She looked at me like I did some crime but she didn't said anything . she just struggle to free her arm. I still holded her arm " leave my arm , mujhe dish complete karni hai ( I have to complete the dish) she said without looking at me. I left her arm. " Rahul already dish complete kar chukka hai , tum rest karo ( Rahul already dish complete kar chukka hai , you do rest) I asked her . " why , takin garnishing tumhari di hui recipe sa nahi hua bol sako( so that you can say that garnishing didn't went as per your given recipe) she said in an angry tone. she started walking . I stoped her by fastening my steps and stoping her . . " what the bloody hell are you saying I was shocked on her accusation . " tumhe jan much kar mujhe injur kiya( you deliberately hurted me ) she accused me . " I didn't hurted you . why the hell I will do that to you the feel with which I said that only I knew . she seemed oblivious to it . " so that Rahul is out of this competition saying this she walked inside . first time when I was not involved in hurting her she accused me for it and I felt bad . this feeling did brought a strange emotion inside me . I was angry on myself that why I want her to know that I am no wrong . from when did I cared what any human thinks of me . my hand succumbed in a fist . I was angry on myself . " guess I need to show mehek Sharma , what I do if I have to hurt somebody. I just came inside without paying attention to anyone . I stood at judges panel . " only five minutes left , hurry up " I said in a raged tone . I saw mehek Sharma who was busy in keeping vanilla ice cream scoop on her red velvet pizookie base . it looked delicious but I was no mood to taste that .

The result was announced out of eight only 6 contestants were left . Rahul has won this round and their whole gang was very happy about that. I just wanted to ignore them . I called mahesh for discussing next round . for next round we were planning to call some chefs from famous delhi hotels to be part of next theme . in between that task my eyes noticed that neha was talking to mehek . may be asking sorry from her . bloody hell like I care . I gave this thought and was back into my work . once the shoot was over I came out to already I was hell frustrated . my phone buzzed and I checked it . it was Vicky .

Sk seems bit jealous of Raul and he finds it difficult to see MS supporting Raul. When Ms is helping Raul with task he tries to make it difficult for her by trying to make her lose her confidence but she worked out his game and gives him fitting reply. Sk moves back and Ms gets hurt by accident but she accuses him for deliberately hurting her which makes him v angry as he was genuinely concerned for her. He remains in foul mood as even though he pretends not to care, deep down it did matter what she thought of him. Pls update soon as I loved all the details about the recipes and dishes.

Mehak got hurt on her finger again same repeat of 1st ISC moments. Shaurya was hell irritated by Rahul he is feels insecure when Mehak is around Rahul. 😆 He wanted to make this competion hell tuff for Rahul but being with Mehak his side he couldn't do it more like he doesn't wanted hurt Mehak with his stupidity stunts 😳

Rahul passed this round also, Shaurya is something upto make Mehak piss with his some stupid comments. 😒
