OOOh.. he looks pretty intense for sure! :o
It's too early to say though, let's wait for teasers/etc... seeing a person alive and moving is different.. but the pictures look very intense for sure, and I don't see much resemblance with the other pictures..

There is one and only one thing war is fought for - it is power, conquest, and kingdom expansion. Historians and bards often embellished war with "love" to make it more romantic and palatable.

The Trojan war is one such example. The Greeks wanted to control the Hellespont which in turn gave them the power to control trade with the East. So they had to go to war against Troy to get the Hellespont. Helen of Troy was a nice excuse and turned a pointless, bloody, brutal war that decimated entire populations into a story of romanticism, heroism and all that jazz.

Same with the likes of Allauddin Khilji. All he wanted to do was conquer kingdoms and have them bow at his feet. Being smitten by Padmavati just adds spice to the plot. Moreover, I think Malik Mohammed (the writer of Padmavat) was a pioneer of historical fiction. He took obscure forgotten characters who would have otherwise faded from memory and created a dramatic tale around them. It's like adding a love story so that you can make a new movie on the Titanic.

It was not a big deal than.
Bisexuality was common practise during those war eras where soldiers used to spend together fighting wars.
And the central asia hill tribes of khilji accepted practise of bisexuality and paedophilia, commonly known as bacchabazi nowadays.

Yup, "boys play" is still practiced.

Fresh? I don't get it. What kind of freshness and newness you wanted?
He is absolutely menacing in the poster.
