I think that Ranbir should've been trolled for smoking JUST AS badly though.. but that's not what happens is it? Or maybe it's because people had higher expectations from Mahira, not so much from Ranbir. (If that expectation is cos one is female the other male then that's wrong. If the expectation is cos she was regarded as sensible and he not so much then it's a bit more understandable).


But anyways why do you think Hindi film actresses would never risk a picture of themselves smoking in the public sphere? They know the comments that will come their way.. and they know there would definitely be a world of difference in the reaction towards them compared to a male star smoking.

I think Ranbir said it with one sentence more eloquently than all of us- She was trolled simply because she was women and seemed like a fair game. Media should stop using this incidence to increase their TRP.
There have always been different standards given out for male and female. Which is most unfair and why feminism was really born. It has nothing to do with people's sensibilities but with their prejudice and their small mind ness towards female sex. Higher or lower expectation be damned. 😔
