Director Ranjit Tiwari: Assistant director of flop film Hero (2015).

Producer Nikhil Advani: Flop director.

Actor Farhan Akhtar: Bunch of flops lately.

Actor Gippy Grewal: Popular in Punjab, non-existant in rest of the country.

Opening day (will be approximately half of another Punjabi star Diljit Dosanjh's film Phillauri as that film had popular heroine Anushka and was more of a colourful film): 1.75 crore nett

Opening Weekend: 6 crore nett

Lifetime Collections: 10 crore nett

Overall Box Office Verdict: Disaster

So combined lifetime total of Simran + Lucknow will probably be less than single day collection of big movies from major stars. Then people talk about equal pay. lol.

Merit is like ... milk is boiling..it heats up...it starts to shake...it sizzles...then it rises and rises and when u turn off the stove...the malai/cream i.e. merit comes at the top..while regular milk like Farhan Akhtar, Priyanka Chopra settles at the bottom.

There is a reason big names get big money...and people like Farhan Akhtar keep giving crap lines...like apni betaabion ko ...pata nahi kya kar rahe ho..toh zinda ho tum. stupid idiot...flop actor.

BOI:

Lucknow Central had a poor first day as it collected 1.75 crore nett. If we look at most places the film pretty much trended as per Simran but those 5 metros is where the difference comes as Simran trended far better there. The film has managed to record better collections than Simran in places like UP and Rajasthan but that is because Simran is very dull in these places and Lucknow Central is just a little better but still dull.

There has been this Nepotism row going in India for the last few months which 90% of India probably does not know what it means and is also not really interested because its about watching good films with actors they like rather than family lineage of actors. But for the record it is the outsider (Kangana) who has come out on top from insider (Farhan) this time.
