yes I have read that Adishakti is the most powerful. She is the source of everything. But what is the origin of her, none knows that. but why Mahadev did not marry her directly I also don't know. good question

Cause Adi Shakti is part of Mahadeva.. She is half part of Mahadeva in beginning.. Lord Brahma ne Tapasya ki thi Shiv ji ki jab vo thak gaye the srajan kar-karke tab unki request par Lord Shiva ne apne aadhe ang ko Tyaag diya tha jo ki Aadi-shakti thi aur jinhone urja, ushma, prathvi, Prakriti aur baaki moolbhoot chijo ka srajan kiya... Lord shiva ne unhe vardaan me diya tha to unhe Wapas us roop me Apna nahi sakte the aur Adi-Shakti bhi apne Kartvayo se bandhi thi par Shiv-shakti ke ek hue bina world ki pragati nahi ho sakti thi kyunki lord shiva Aadi-shakti ke gam me aghora ki tarah rahne lage the isiliye Lord Vishnu n lord brahma ne Daksh ko kaha tha Adi-shakti ko prasanna kar unhe putri roop me prapt karne ke liye jisse Shiv-shakti milan ho sake

@chemgirl:

1. Daksha iherently disliked Shiva who lived like an ascetic and considred him to be unworthy of his beautiful daughter. The same old social barrier and ladki-ke-papa type gundagardi. :)

2. (from Wiki) Once Brahma conducted a huge yajna (sacrifice), where all the Prajapatis, gods and kings of the world were invited. Shiva and Sati were also called on to participate in the yajna. All of them came for the yajna and sat in the ceremonial place. Daksha came last. When he arrived, everyone in the yajna, with the exception of Brahma, Shiva and Sati, stood up showing reverence for him.[8] Brahma being Daksha's father and Shiva being Daksha's son-in-law were considered superior in stature to Daksha. Daksha misunderstood Shiva's gesture and considered Shiva's gesture as an insult. Daksha vowed to take revenge on the insult in the same manner.

The power or energy of Shiva is Shakti, the embodiment of power. She is the power and support of the entire universe. Thus, she is the Universal Mother because she manifest the world in to existence from Nature mother to individual mother .

Shiva represents the eternal consciousness, while Shakti represents mind and matter. Shakti is the feminine energy inherent in everything throughout the universe and is considered the companion of Lord Shiva in her personified form.

Shakti is the creative force, worshipable as an aspect of the Divine but inseparable from the masculine principle, which is called Brahman by some and Shiva by others.

The supreme spirit or God is the cosmic energy and is the "Shiva Shakti in Atharva Veda. God Shiva is expressed through his consort or Divine Shakti Parvati known as Amba, Durga, Kamakhya, Kali . Further Shakti is divided as per the work order of Shiva, as saraswati for creativity for Brahma ,Laxmi or Maya for Lord Vishnu and Kali for Rudra.

When Brahma requested Shiva to grant him Shakti so that he can create female counter part for male beings to enable creation process through natural union, Shiva obliged and offered his Adya Shakti who is his female manifestation.

Brahma was pleased and with the help of the universal manifestation that is Adi Shakti, created individual female manifestations to compliment his male manifestations. His task completed,he wished to return Shakti to Shiva who became a Viragi ( ascetic) by then due to the loss of his female counterpart.

Just then Daksha did penance and requested Adya Shakti to be his daughter. So Adi Shakti the universal manifestation took birth as human Sati through Prasuti's womb. The main purpose is to unite with Shiv in marriage. Because of taking birth through human womb Sati could not be complete manifestation of Adi Shakti as her body has limitations but through penance she made herself fit to be the source of complete manifestation of Shakti to a great extent.

Due to Daksha's misdeeds Sati burnt herself and again manifested as Parvati who is complete and the full manifestation of the universal power .She knew her previous birth as Sati as per Shiv Puran unlike how it was shown in the show. Parvati's penance is the means not only to win Mahadev but also to grasp the cosmic female energy that is unmanifested and inherent in the nature so that she will truly be complete in every way.

Parvati is all powerful,possessor of Dasa Maha Vidyas and Matru ganas in her conscience. She definitely stands on par with Shiv and Vishnu to share the burden of the creation.

Sorry I don't know if I am able to make you understand what I meant.

Jab se Mahadeva ne lord brahma ka 5th head cut kiya th tab se Daksh unhe pasand nahi karta tha cause lord Brahma uske pita the.. fir prajapati banane ke baad sab devta uski help karte the aur uske rules ko manate the.. even Lord brahma n lord vishnu bhi use help karte the aur world ko niyambadh karte the but shiva to the bairagi na hi vo niyam mante the aur na hi koi help karte the.. apni marji se kare the vo aur vo daksh ke niyamo ke kamiya bhi nikalte the jiske karan daksh unhe pasand nahi karta tha.. fir sati prem karne lagi lord shiva se but daksh ko apni naajo se pali putri ko yogi mahadeva ko dena manya nahi tha but Lord brahma n lord vishnu ke kahne par unhe aisa karna pada.. uske baad jaisa di ne bataya brahma dev ke yagya ke time jo hua usse daksh ko sirf mahadeva se revenge lena tha.. even vo apni putri ko bhi tyaag deta hai kyunko usne bhi usko respect nahi di thi aur un dono ke apmaan ke liye vo khud sansaar ka sabse yagya karta hai

Sorry agar koi mistake hui to but jitna mujhe pata tha maine vo bata diya

Adi Shakti is the ultimate Goddess, and she formed all three Devis. Mahalakshmi, Maha Gauri, and Maha Saraswati are all part of Adi Shakti, and thus she resides in each of them. The form of Adi Shakti that is the consort of Lord Shiva is Ma Gauri, and thus he married her in that form, just as Vishnu married Lakshmi and Brahma married Saraswati, each of them a form of Adi Shakti as well.
