Can't help but wonder how Shivagami would've played out, had it been Sridevi portraying the role...Sridevi may not have the best of the voices, but she more than compensates that with her acting...

That said, I love Shivagami played by Ramya as it is!

Ramya Krishnan was perfect for the role of Shivagami
Not sure if Sri Devi would have done as well as her
Not at all putting her down but some roles are made just for some people

Now that Bahubali is successful, we all loved it the way it is. And cant imagine anybody else in the any of the roles. Ramya Krishnan was amazing, among all the movie characters I liked Shivagami the most.

But we cannot underestimate Sridevi's talent. You never know she would have given equal justice to the role.

She was the first female superstar in BW & did lot of female centric movies. She may be a homewrecker & whatever in real life, but onscreen shes magic.

I thought, her shaky voice was because of her age. But no. She has a good voice, while speaking Telugu. Is she still nervous while speaking Hindi?

Also her face. It is more rounded. She is looking better in this video.

Ramaya rocked Sivagami. I dunno how Sri would've played her but I'm sure, like all her roles, she'd have done justice to this one too. Looking forward to Rajamouli/Sridevi collaboration.

Long time since I heard her speak Telugu. It's her mother tongue I think and since her Dad is Tamil I am pretty sure her command of those languages is different from Hindi. I kind of always felt her voice, diction is Hindi is not so great because she is not just as fluent in it as she was in Tamil and Telugu. I wonder what language the Kapoors speak at home. Hindi ? English ? Telugu ?

She does look nice in this video. Undoubtedly, she's more fluent in Telugu/Tamil. I don't think she speaks much Hindi...except maybe conversing with her friends in Mumbai. At home, I do wonder what she speaks... very likely combination of them all... but English for sure. 😆

She's a shy person and was always known to be reticent even in her early days. It takes time to warm up to people. Once she is chummy with them, then she's a whole different personality.

Just this contrasting off-screen and on-screen personality , coined the term "switch on/switch off" actress for her. 😊
