Court adjourned the hearing in the
blackbuck poaching case which involves
actor Salman Khan and others till July 6.
According to a leading daily, the court also
rejected prosecution's plea to summon the
doctor who performed the post-mortem on
the animal.
The prosecution had earlier moved a city
court seeking the first postmortem
examination report of the animal and
demanded a police probe into its allegedly
wrong autopsy. The prosecution has now
sought the two reports, ahead of the
hearing of final arguments in the case after
Salman during an earlier hearing deposed
that the first autopsy report by veterinarian
N. P. Nepalia was correct.
In the post-mortem report, Nepalia had
pointed out that dog bites-driven shock
might have led to the death of the
blackbucks, however, a medical board
rejected his findings.
For those uninitiated, it was during the
shooting of Sooraj Barjatya's movie, Hum
Saath Saath Hain in 1999 when Salman
allegedly went hunting along with co-actors
Saif Ali Khan, Neelam, Sonali Bendre and
Tabu. During this time, two blackbucks were
killed in Kankani village.
On January 27, this year, a court in Jodhpur
had acquitted Salman Khan in the 18-year-
old Arms Act Case after the prosecution
failed to prove any charges against the actor
under sections 3/25 and 3/27 of the Indian
Arms Act.
