With Ranveer gone, Priyanka collapsed on the ground and broke into tears, the anguish of grief finally overtaking her. She cried for the pain she had caused her brother due to her immaturity. She cried for the pain she was causing Ranveer and her self. She cried for the hope of love that was not brutally crushed. She cried at the unfairness of it all. She sat there, sobs racking her body till she was drained and no longer had the energy to cry.
As she sat there, drained and almost lifeless, she opened the crumpled note that she had been holding in her palm all along. The note that she had discovered in her purse only after reaching home.
Oberoi baby, on her high horse,

Priyanka heaved a sigh of relief after speaking to Ranveer. He would be here soon sang then she would tell him everything that she could now recall about the night of the accident. It wouldn't be difficult for Ranveer to get a hold of Svetlana once he was aware of the whole story. Hopefully, once she was arrested, they're would be some peace in the life of Ranveer and Priyanka as they wouldn't finally be able to put their pasts behind them and think about their future together. She smiled as she fingered the delicate filigreed brooch that Ranveer had gifted her. The man knew how to woo a lady.
Her phone buzzed and, in her excitement, she answered it without checking the caller ID.
"Hello, baby doll!"
Priyanka felt a chill race down her spine as she recognised Svetlana's voice.
"S-ss-Svetlana?"
"I'm glad you remember this old friend," she trilled. "Been getting my messages, I hope?"
"Wh-why are you d-doing this?" Priyanka managed to reply.
"Oh, chicken! If only we could get the answers to all our questions in life. But is life that fair?"
"Why aa-are you ca-calling?"
"You love your brother, don't you? We all do. So here's a deal. Your loverboy has taken Dev in custody. Ask him to let Dev go without pressing charges. In return, I let you and your O bhaiyya live in peace. If not, that grand exhibition that Omkara is planning next month, imagine what will happen if word gets around that he was involved in a hit-and-run? Oh, the drama!"
"Bu-but I can't do ay-anything for him."
"Oh, but I can do so much for O! Watch out for the headlines tomorrow, baby doll!"

Within a matter of minutes, her world had once again turned upside down. Now, Ranveer thought everything about her was a lie. Her words, her story, her actions and probably, even her feelings. If only he knew...
