very nice movie.sachin is the best.loved the movie very much.no bollywood naach gana just an honest story of the indias greatest hero.left watching cricket after sachins retirement this movie reminded me how much i loved cricket only bec of sachin.

Sachin - A Billion Dreams Has Decent Hold On Monday

Sachin - A Billion Dreams held pretty well on Monday doing around 50% of day one with business of 3.50-3.75 crore nett apprx in Hindi. This film could have dropped badly on Monday due to the film not being in the normal feature film format. The four day total is over 26.50 crore nett and the week will be going to 36 crore nett which is very good.

These are very good numbers for the film and the the production cost of the film is not much being a documentary. But the film has fetched a good price in the market (huge for a documentary probably due to the Sachin Tendulkar factor) from a major multiplex chain which has allowed the producers a handsome table profit. The recovery for the buyers will depend on the revenue of income sources like satellite, overseas etc. These will have to give to over 20 crore for the film to cover. The first weekend business of Sachin - A Billion Dreams (Hindi) is as follows.

Friday - 7,18,00,000

Saturday - 7,75,00,000 apprx

Sunday - 9,00,00,000 apprx

Monday - 3,75,00,000 apprx

TOTAL - 27,69,00,000

Pirate Of The Caribbean - Salazar's Revenge had a fair hold on Monday of a little under 50% and the film is heading for a first week total of around 21.50 crore nett which is on the lower side but its lifetime business is going to finish higher than many recent Hindi films like Begum Jaan and Phillauri. Its an Average fair if it can get over 30 crore nett. The four day first week business of Pirates Of The Carribean - Salazars Revenge is as follows

Friday - 4,25,00,000

Saturday - 4,75,00,000

Sunday - 4,75,00,000

Monday - 2,25,00,000

TOTAL - 16,00,00,000

An Emotionally Moving Film: Rajkumar Hirani on Sachin: A Billion Dreams

Mumbai: Filmmaker Rajkumar Hirani, who gave inputs for Sachin: A Billion Dreams, says the docu-drama on cricket legend Sachin Tendulkar is an "inspiring and emotionally moving film".

Tendulkar himself wanted superstar Aamir Khan and Hirani to watch the rough edit of the biographical drama and share their suggestions.

"Anjali wanted Abhijat Joshi, Aamir and me to see the rough edit of the film and share our suggestions and views. We all are Sachin fans. We happily did that. It's an inspiring and emotionally moving film. Worth a watch for everyone," Hirani said in a statement.

Narrated by Tendulkar himself, Sachin: A Billion Dreams takes viewers on an inspirational journey and tells how a Mumbai boy went on to become the "God of Cricket". The movie was released on May 26.

The film has been written and directed by James Erskine and produced by Ravi Bhagchandka and Carnival Motion Pictures under 200 Not Out Productions.
