1. The Aarti changing hands from the O'Bro to the O'Bahu's :
Shivvay's feels his wife approach even before he sees her. His look in her direction and nod towards Annika to come and join him - sigh!!! this man I tell you. It was as if he was looking at his 'perfect child' and was so proud of her. 😆
... as opposed to Shakti who did not even realize HIS WIFE had left the puja and had returned ...lol 😆
He was so Mr. Oberoi (the older one between the two there) asking his wife (the younger one) to come and fulfill her responsibility. This is the mentor side of Shivvay that I see often. He seems to be guiding, educating and instilling the 'parampara' of the house into her in his firm and gentle way.
I love that he has chosen to do that as opposed to the other older Oberoi's. She is his responsibility and he seems somewhat possessive about that as well sometimes.
He wants to be the one to show her how and what.
The respect and the honor that Annika got as the older Bhabhi in that simple Aarti scene was so poignant to see . If anyone wanted to know what their older Bhabhi meant to her husband and to the Oberoi siblings, all they would have to do is watch that scene.
Darling Prinku, how she has matured. That brief scene there of how protective she was about Annika made me smile. She could have left her there and stepped back for Annika to move forward on her own but she did not. She gently guided her towards the Aarti, making sure that her Bhabhi was handed over to Om, her affection and respect very evident in that very simple gesture.
(Gauri... !!!! watch closely how your 'Jatadhari -Nandi' transforms into the Om we all know and love and breaks into the completely honest and lovable smile when his Bhabhi approaches. This is the real Om, not the grumpy guy who is fighting his attraction for you.😆)
And Om, for his part, made sure that Annika was comfortable standing where she was by guiding her into his spot and holding the Aarti right till the time that he was sure that she had it in her hand, before he slowly stepped back and adjacent to her. Always behind his Bhabhi I notice, as if he still does not trust that Shivvay will look after her ..lol 😉
Annika came to take the Aarti from Om's side and he handed his side to her with all the respect, honor and affection that comes with being her Devar by relationship - and his protectiveness, his brotherly smile and his paternal nod towards her by relationship of being older than her. That moment was such a beautiful one.
We all know the bond that these two share. We all know how Om adores Annika and is her greatest advocate. And we all know the bond that he also shares with Shivvay.
Om handing his side over to Annika felt like him handing over his responsibility of Shivvay over to Annika.
Similarly Shivvay affectionately nodding at Gauri - his protectiveness very very evident knowing that she has not been accepted by Om. He hands over his side to her - and in a way he hands over his Om to her - to watch over and look after as he steps behind Gauri, her advocate and her protector.
Shivvay wearing the shawl that once matched (or was) Annika's top.
Rudy wearing the shawl that once matched (or was ) Saumya's top. 😊
Most notable point - the camera going off non-stop that shows who was at the Aarti and who left when
The Haldi Chaap Rasam:
Shivvay nodding to Om - 'Bade Bhaiya' not letting him out of this marriage for sure ...lol 😆 Pay back Om for forcing Shivvay's on him 🤣 🤣
Shivvay never more than a step behind his wife, again guiding, observing, making sure she did it right and leading her through the ritual as if he had to make sure his 'perfect child' made no blunders and mistakes. She was the older Bahu and would be setting these traditions for the ones to come. Ultimate and perfect Older O'Bahu grooming subtly happening for the past 2 episodes people, and none other than by Mr. Oberoi himself.👏
He understands that being an orphan and motherless puts his wife at a disadvantage to the others because she has had no one to educate her in these matters. It is amazing how protective and intuitive he is about things that even she has not realized about herself.
Notice he does not let Dadi, Bua Ma or even Badi Ma step in to help with his wife. It is him all the way. That is what Gauri envys and I don't blame her. Shivvay almost looms and surrounds Annika everywhere she moves as if worried to trust her with anyone else. She is his and his alone - he does not share his wife very well ...lol
He is so adorable, watching every move and every action that she makes as if committing it to memory so that he can revisit it in the future. Who can say Annika is an orphan with a husband like Shivvay who is always sticking to her like her shadow?
In a daze she goes through the motions and as if he has already clued in that she is distracted, he matches his movements with every move she makes.
As she raises her hand in the general direction of the board, it is he who guides it with his, to the right place and firmly places them on the board.
That is it - he has firmly installed her into the home and hearth even if she was to distracted to do so on her own. That is enough to tell anyone that whether Annika understands her commitment to this marriage and what it takes or not,Shivvay will always be there to firmly and gently pull her back into it and reinstate her into his home and hearth should she ever try to leave.
That is what everyone sees and smiles about when he presses her palms down. How beautifully Shivvay guides this woman, who is almost like a child in so many respects still where these puja's and rituals are concerned, without drawing the slightest bit of attention to her drawback or highlighting it in anyway.
Then he stands back for a few moments admiring the imprint as if admiring the 'finger painting' of his most gifted and talented child with pride. It could have been a 'Picasso' that she had painted, the way he was admiring the most routine ritual done by O'Bahu's for generations... lol 😆
All the clapping, at her completing the task, would have been a given the way Mr. Oberoi made such a pomp and show of his wife making the imprint. I think he would have been mighty offended if they had not clapped for his wife's very admirable feat of making a perfect 'Haldi Chaap'🤣🤣 A bench mark for O'Bahu's for generations to come ... 😆
Of course he is not going to let Om off the hook, so 'Nandi' has to take his Gauri finger painting as well. 😆 Sorry Gauri no claps for you, your 'jatadhari' managed to ruin your 'finger painting' in his anger. But don't fret - you will see his loving side soon. 100+ episodes down the line ... 😆
