I might be in minority but the entire rituals were only visually beautiful.
As per my understanding of family rituals, if a person is not completely involved in them, it negates the whole purpose.
I agree, but Shivvay as a brother and Shivvay as a husband was doing it completely involved. If you mean Annika, she had her mind that was distracted by the shock of what she witnessed but her heart meant all that the Puja was being done for.
No comments about Pinky ...lol 😆
It was mere an official stamp of her being an Oberoi bahu. Annika must have long waited for this day but look at the agony on her face .
The agony on her face was only because of Pinky. No one else treats or respects her anything less as the official 'Older Oberoi Bahu' and that is what Irks Pinky. Even Jhanvi is affectionate and feels proud about Annika and Shakti too smiles with benevolence now.
That she is a hit with the Jr. Oberoi's (Gauri included) is a given.
'Mere Stamp" would have been true for her 'rituals' just after her marriage when Shivvay was not accepting her as his wife.
I didnt enjoy it at all. Why the situations are so unfavorable for her all the time? She is still craving for complete acceptance whilst the other DIL is getting all without asking for it.
She HAS the acceptance and the honor as the Older Bahu and the love and adoration as Shivvay's wife- you are only taking about 'Pinky's Acceptance', and that does not really matter to Annika unless Pinky spits her venom at her directly.
Gauri too does not have complete acceptance. Her HUSBAND'S has not accepted her!! She too has her rituals being done in an unfavorable environment!!
In fact it is worse for her because she is not doing them with Jhanvi but with Om and these are memories you make with your husband.
Even Shivvay in all his anger and disgust, never treated Annika like Om treats Gauri, in the rituals he had done earlier. He never pulled and pushed her through the rituals and whispered over and over again how much he hated her. He was detached and aloof but never cruel to her.
Barring the wedding incident where he turned into a monster, Gauri is right, Shivvay was never ungentlemanly with Annika in public. He did respect her and maintain the decorum.
Annika was so lost throughout, and Shivay is far from realizing that Pinky is a huge psychological block for Annika to actually assume the role of badi bahu in the family. Damn!
Pinky is not a psychological block for Annika because Annika knows fully well who and what is important to Pinky and she does not have it - NKK. She has already assumed the role of Bahu and there is nothing pinky or anyone else can say about that.
She was not lost in thought because of what Pinky did to her!! She was lost in thought because she was worried about how Shivvay would take this truth about his mother. And right enough - he could not bear or handle it.
As for Annika wanting Pinky's acceptance,I don't think her world actually exists beyond and outside Shivvay ...lol
She never engages or tries to impress Pinky as other Bahu's are shown to do in other soaps. She is smart and steers clear of Pinky, knowing fully well that she is not liked by her. She keeps her contact with Pinky to a minimum and only when Shivvay is around. I do not think she is dying for Pinky's acceptance- it is Pinky who seeks her out and is obsessed with her.
The only person's acceptance Annika care about in the OM is Shivvay's
