I can see that most of the forum seems to be enjoying the Gangaram (GR) character, feeling oh so bad for his contrived sob story, but as usual, I offer a contrary opinion.

This track is already convoluted beyond words and I'm not going to get into the details of that...specifically though, I want to point out some majorly problematic sidetracks this storyline has now taken.

1) When your entire focus is more on glorifying a RANDOM character that was inserted into the story just two weeks back rather than your lead pair, you've got some issues.

I was truly amazed to see the absolutely pathetic way in which the Shivika hug was inserted today in the middle of GR doing Gandi Baat in the background.😕...what was the intention of this scene? Shivika's emotional reunion? Hitting us over the head with the fact that Shivaay ka duplicate hai? Glorifying GR's dancing abilities? All of these or none of these?

If it was the first, sadly the execution failed thanks to Gandi Baat being shoved in our faces in the backdrop and O Jaana also ending up playing on the duplicate hanging around in the background😕😆...the Shivika scene began out of nowhere, ended out of nowhere but Duplicate ki screen space mein koi kami nahi aayi...bravo👏...

Let's recap to where the writers had last left Shivika...from that emotional hug to the absolutely disjointed hug today...great progress👏...thanks to the fact that two whole weeks have been wasted in glorifying a random duplicate character.

2) The actual sob story of this Mahi and the fact that I'm actually reading people comparing this to Anika's sad story😕😆...wow...talk about false equivalencies...the OVERKILL of this guy's "najaayaz" trauma in one epi suddenly supercedes all the challenges Anika faced in her life WITHOUT becoming a gundi? Are you kidding me?

Oh and while we're on the topic...umm the writers haven't even BOTHERED to explore Anika's backstory but they have ALL the time in the world to build a whole universe around this Mahi? 😕😆...Anika has to be THE most mysterious Female Lead ever created...no backstory, and now just so content being the Oberoi bahu that the past doesn't even seem to matter in her story anymore...😆...cuz ofcourse where is the time for all that cuz it's all about MAHI now😆

Not just Anika, RuMya are still waiting in line to be given some crumbs of storyline😆...but what do we get instead? Kamini+Mahi+ACP storyline😕😆

3) Just two weeks back, I was appreciating the evolution and arcs the writers had given to the Shivika story...now I'm truly at a loss for words at the determined attempts to dilute or dismiss the Shivika equation in this storyline😕...how did Shivika end up becoming an afterthought in this show? That too sacrificed for Shivaay's duplicate?😕 It's pretty hysterical😆😆...When did Shivika plateau as a pair in the eyes of the writers that now they seem to think only contrived duplicate type tracks can keep this show running?😕

Finally, I'm sure NM is enjoying playing something different but personally, I didn't really tune into this show to watch some tapori and his chawl drama...I've been watching for Shivaay and Anika...and I think the writers need to get their priorities figured out if they want to salvage this in anyways.

lol kia time aa gaya hai rumya ke liye 2 shows main bhi jagah nahi hai while this gangu gets this VIP treatment just coming in 2 weeks ago kismat ho toh is gangu jaisi bhai.

anika ki kisko padi hai usse toh waise hi sabko michmichi aaati hai woh bechari toh sauteli hai aur usko to chodo ab toh bechara shivaay bhi sautela hi lag raha hai inka saga jo aay gaya hai writer madam ji toh khud bhool gayi hai apne most beloved character ko and is too busy fangirling over this mahi

iska toh kai hi kehna ek min pehle he was crying and all sad and singing Kyon main jaagon cut to a chai ki pyali and he starts singing and dancing to gandi baat WAH 😆😆😆 saara dukh hawa ho gaya

shivaay bechara toh itna dukhi tha aur hota bhi kyon na uski phooti kismat humshakal bhi mila toh yeh nkk ke bhgair wala langoor

Thanks AY. You know that I am in a mood to rant too... I waited all this while to watch IB again, and thought to catch up today because I expected that Shivika would finally meet. But what do I know. Apparently IB is not about Shivika anymore... we have a more "necessary" Gandaram in the house now!

1. I am sympathetic towards Mahi for the lady he has had to put up and live with all his life, but nothing more than that. How many helpless creatures working towards bringing down the Oberoi's to satisfy their parents can we digest? We just had Tia acting on her mothers orders just walk away freely... Now, you bring in a Mahi and expect us to feel sad for him? So, he has had an arguably terrible childhood, but now, even if it is to please his mother, he is conning people without knowing anything about them? The fact that he loves his mother and wants to please her somehow makes it all right is it? In which world? What the hell are these people trying to show?

2. Ok, he may have been illegitimate and may have been shunned his whole life. But atleast he had someone to call his own, however terrible she was. Anika is an orphan. She has lived a life as tough as it gets. But she chose to stand on her own feet and become independent. That is why she gets the respect that she does. And Mahi dances around all day? Why didn't he do something with his life? He sat around and lamented about his bad luck and now I should do the same for him? Hell no!

3. Looks like the electromagnetic rays ate off whatever part of Shivaay's brain was left... for what else can explain his cold reaction towards Mahi? Someone took him away and tried to mess with his family... The family that he can do anything for. And this is Shivaay's reaction when he sees someone that resembles him completely? he did not even look shocked. I hope they show a continuation of it tomorrow where the real Shivaay gets back into his shoes and thinks about how to fix the problem and what a big threat this Mahi is, and what they should do to stop him. Because his reaction today was so uninteresting and uninterested that I don't know what to expect.

4. So, this Kamini likes her nephew more than she likes her own son. Some mother she is (I know, I know, she may not be his real mother, but whatever). If the ACP has this Mahi for a cousin all his life, how it is that he wasn't surprised when he saw Shivaay for the first time? Since he is an educated man, maybe we are to assume that he had read about Shivaay in the one business magazine that always has Shivaay's pic on it 😆. God, what a mess they made of all these characters.

5. Why is Prinku the cursed Oberoi? I get it, the story is about 3 brothers. But it is not like the 3 brothers are getting any screen space these days. If the writers ran out of creative ideas for Shivika and Obros, at-least they could have concentrated on a repeat love story for PriVeer... not that I care about them, but even that would be better than this nonsense. At-least some of us would care about Prinku since she has been a character in the show from day 1.

That shivika hug today was kind of masked by all the nonsense around it. It was so misplaced and frankly, a bit annoying. I understand the emotions, and it may have been a natural reaction for any couple. But I was not moved, I did not feel their emotions, I was annoyed!

I finally got back to watching IB today when I came to know that the real Shivaay was back but instead of gushing over the whole Shivika hug, I spent my time rewatching it again and again for it to reach/activate my normal Shivika feels levels...and that's the reason why I hate this hamshakal...that he is replacing the leads of the show and the audience connect to him a much as if not more than Shivika themselves...I am not talking about Rumya because their story never started...somewhere along the way , Saumya's mom got lost in preps for Saumya's not-happening-wedding with Rehaan!! And ultimately never even bothered to show her face in the house where her daughter now lives as the bahu?!! 😕Ok, moving on...

Its not that I dont sympathise with Mahi, I do and I think its kind of impossible not to feel a teeny bit bad for him with the sob story the CVs are showing!! I am just worried for Shivika as the couple themselves have been overshadowed by Mahi's sob story...

I dont know what the point of the track is at all...my hope is that it will eventually pave way to a future where Shivika might leave OM (vanvaas track) and later we can get to see Shivika live and face life like commoners, without the Oberoi surname to fall back on and fall more in love with each other...

As Shivaay struggles but finds a takkar ka partner in Ani and we can have that dialogue of Ani's that she is first and foremost 'just Anika' put to good use but its quite a lot to hope for!!

I respect your opinion, but I want to be honest, most of this is yet to be seen. What is Annika's past? Who knows. We'll find out, and if we don't, shame on the writers.

I'm of the opinion the Gandi Baat dance was not random at all. He was upset, so he danced the pain away. Thats not really a bad coping mechanism. Omkara has his art and poetry, Mahi has his dancing. Perhaps the Shivika hug was entirely random, but we still don't know how or why so its still too early to judge. Writing this off as to glorifying a random character is unfair really. What do we know about the truth? Who is Mahi? Is he related to Shivaay? Who knows.

I mean, its fair to complain about the fact we still know nothing about Annika aside from her lovely personality and attitude. But there has to be something to look forward to right? RiKara and RuMya have barely gotten anywhere, and Shivika is practically almost done. They have to keep stretching really because OmRu are being put in a different show. (Note: Not saying this is a good thing) Honestly, I find it refreshing that this show is not Shivika-centric and that there are other characters to watch.

To be honest, I can agree that lots of things can keep the story going, but the problem is do they know how to do that in a way that keeps the TRP up? Thats the question. I think Mahi, as the illegitimate half-brother, adds a darker shade to the Oberoi family in its continuity of how grey the family is. That even Shakti is horrible.

It's been over 9 months now. Pray do tell when is a "good time" then to insert Anika's past storyline, if ever? When is a "good time" to move the RuMya storyline? Instead of following up on the storylines of existing characters, the writers randomly bring in a whole new character and build such a detailed universe around him and his vampy mom? 😕

I'm sorry, but it doesn't work for me. And sorry to say, but the writers are the one who've made Shivika "almost done"...there was plenty to explore in their story still but it seems like the writers have already written them off too and feel the need to bring in a random tapori and build a story around him.

If the existing characters with potential like Rudra and Soumya were being explored, I would have no cause to complain but to randomly add a look-alike character when Shivaay-Anika themselves have PLENTY of internal conflicts to still explore...well that just signals that the writers seem to have written off their own creations and would rather jump ship to shiny new objects.

Personally those objects don't work for me so I've simply expressed my opinion *shrugs*

Hug scene was added as an after-thought to fool shivika fans. So that ppl freely concentrate on mahi's sob story. Y'day scene where she asked khanna to find out about unknown number and realisation scenes were shot before SC went on vacation. I think they might have some plans to show how she helps him scenes. But they changed it and just made shivaay appear out of nowhere and hug. He did not answer any anika's question because CVs ne likhe nahi. NM ko bhi pata nahi hoga shivaay kaise aaya and woh kya jaanta as CVs have not decided😆, so just show them hug and make viewers happy!

Only male characters are mostly shown such weaklings self pity me marte hai. Ladies are stronger i suppose so anika bhi anaat probably najayaz didn't make her a forever sad person or crook. So uski back story dikhana zaroori nahi hai.😕 2 hafte pehele aaya duplicate ki life history zaroori hai.😕

Bang on😆...all logical questions...but who has the time for logic when the writers randomly decide to "relate" characters out of the blue...like the NB sisters and Mrs. K😆...and now the ACP who showed no cognition when he first met Shivaay turns out to be related to Shivaay's life long duplicate😆

The writers box themselves in a corner time and again by convoluting the story and then conveniently show a barely put together half-assed explanation to quickly get past it😆

I'm toh just LOL-ing so much that the so called so famous SSO ka duplicate has been roaming around Mumbai all this time and was never discovered before this? 😆😕...

At this rate even Tia and Daksh would be a better storyline...and that's the real irony...LOL even at the worst points of these villains ke tracks, Shivika were never made an afterthought in this show...but now thanks to the fact that this Mahi is played by NM, it has become an either him or Shivaay situation in terms of shooting hours...with this guy usually winning out...and to make it worse, they are building a whole sympathetic universe around him...even Tia and Daksh weren't glorified like this😕😆

So, copy pasted random comment from previous posts 😆 This post is going to act like my BM 😆

I have not watched IB since a week now.. I just watched the hug scene today and am utterly disappointed.. Something was amiss.. It was half-baked.. last minute decision..

Also, partially saw the "Kyun Main Jaagoon" sequence... NM has acted well.. Kamini is hitting/pushing and giving taanas to Mahi.. He is supposed to be MAJBOORIS KA MAARA INSAAN... and he looks like one 😆 Good hai isko backstory de rahe hai.. Character might also appeal to some people.. Chalo ye bhi thik hai... I'll skip Mahi ka scenes the way I skip other scenes I'm not interested in.. 😆

My problem and reason for my anger is forcefully isko fit karna and Anika-Shivaay and RumYa ko sideline karna 😡 It hurts that the CVs are not caring about Shivaay-Anika and sab attention iss Mahi pe hai..

Btw There is a lot of explore in Anika-Shivaay's equation.. I can provide CVs with a list if they are interested...😆 Let's start with Anika's past and Chutki FB(the track that was started in beginning but never explored 😆)

I'm still hoping this Mahi is a temp character, his track gets closure soon and focus goes back to Shivaay-Anika.. The reason we have stuck with and enjoyed IB for 250 episodes..!! 😊

I could have sympathized with Mahi if the writers didn't go so OVERBOARD in shoving his sob story down our throats, that too at the cost of storyline development for Shivika...that is not acceptable to me.

The whole episode was LITERALLY like an audition tape of this Mahi...dance kar liya, mouth organ bajaa liya, make puppy face over being abused and beaten by banshee mother, drink chai, reflect over bachpan ki sob story...all this in ONE epi😕...

And where were Shivika? The supposedly lead pair that was meeting after two weeks of separation? Barely given 2 min of footage and that too with this Mahi prancing around in the bg😕...

I'm sorry if I don't feel much sympathy for a character for which my fav. characters are being scapegoated in this show when they DO have storyline and potential to explore...putting NM's face on this character doesn't automatically make it likeable, not to me atleast *shrugs*.

Shivaay is the character that it's taken a while to get attached to with all his idiosyncrasies...it's unfortunate that the writers themselves want to throw away their own creation for a bag of cliches.

And LOL@ you still hoping for a Vanvaas track...😆...Anika will never leave OM unless they have a substitute bahu to model crappy outfits there in her place😆...since that is supposedly her only function in this story now😆...and why would Shivaay leave now? He hasn't been proven illegitimate😕😆...Who would he leave the business to? This Mahi? 😕😆
