Rani Mukherjee- Sudden downfall after mid-noughties?

Rani Mukherjee is one of the most talented actresses in Bollywood, and was at her peak in the early to mid-noughties. However, all of a sudden she started giving flops and her performances were also not applauded like before.

Why was the downfall so sudden? Bad films? Many new talents debuting and getting better projects?

She was the number one actress in 2005, yet her film Dil Bode Hadippa just four years later was being touted as her comeback!

2007 was her annus horribilis but 2008 was the final nail in the coffin. Sticking to one banner(YRF) exclusively has hurt her big time.

more than the performance of her films ,it was her disappearance from the media which caused the downfall plus bad press which she cudnt prevent as she doesnt call up the journos..her stubborness is the reason...

vidya has 6 flops in a row but is not bashed ..why? coz she has good relation with d press

never liked her much..her voice is not soothing..
nt the usual heroine material..fail to understand the hype around her..

Not a fan of rani but her husky voice is her asset no? I mean it makes her unique...dunno know !!!!i Get that voice when i get cold ...😆and i like it..😆

I think that while she was a great actress and she did justice to all her roles, she never moved beyond her comfort zone. Black and Aiyya were her only "unique roles" the rest were things many actresses could have done, the whole bubbly in love, heart broken, we've seen so many of those come and go.
