Ranveer Singh is an outstanding representative of a new generation of young Indian actors who are well educated and cultivate an urban, trendy lifestyle. Since his canvas debut in 2010, he has won a number of prestigious awards, his films have been great success with the audience and the criticism.
On his first visit to Switzerland last summer, he had fallen in love with Switzerland. He had taken pictures and stories from his discovery journey through paradise - as he called it - online on social media and thus made himself the best brand ambassador for Switzerland. The official appointment to the "Brand Ambassador" by Switzerland Tourism was the logical consequence and led to his return to Switzerland.
Currently the actor discovers the Swiss winter and everything he has to offer. He was already in St. Moritz, where he has visited several 5-star hotels, the Olympic Bob-Run in Celerina has downed, played on ice cricket and took lessons in snow kiting. He then came to Lucerne, where he met with local tourist representatives and discovered the beauty of the city by the lake. Of course, his tour also takes him to the Titlis summit, as well as to the Engelberger SnowXPark with the E-Snow Mobiles. He tastes fondue in the igloo village and goes skiing again before his farewell dinner on the weekend.
Like last summer, Ranveer Singh will publish pictures and stories from the Swiss winter in the social media and thus allow his large fan base to participate in his journey. He is also accompanied by an Indian photo and film team that produces marketing material, which this summer will be the core of an advertising campaign in India.
For Switzerland tourism, India is a strategic growth market. Last year, Indian guests spent nearly 600,000 (+ 1.2%) overnight stays in Switzerland. In contrast to the usual Clich, the majority of the guests travel individually or in very small groups (families and friends).
Many of them are returning to Switzerland for the first time. The young travelers (more than 60% of the Indian population are younger than 35 years) are looking for adventurous outdoor experiences in the Swiss Alps. Ranveer Singh is the perfect ambassador to show them all that Switzerland has to offer them, Switzerland Tourism writes in a message. (Htr / npa)

What a job! Yesterday I was able to interview Ranveer Singh (31). My teen idol, a superstar of the Bollywood cinema, the Brad Pitt of India .
I went to Lucerne, where Switzerland Tourism's new ambassador presented - even if I had slept with excitement just two hours. Ranveer's task now is to lure his countrymen here - especially the younger ones, who have a rather more upbeat picture of Switzerland.
Huge was my respect. I, the young intern. He, the mega hero of the Indian film industry. I was so tense that I had a colleague of the welschen Fernsehen RTS the camera had to hold. "You have a nice nose ring," says Ranveer, looking deeply into my eyes . I'm blown away! Like in a trance, the interview is behind me.
Then he takes me in the arm. And all the nervousness falls from me. The interview of my life.
