With a great director, she does well. She was really good in Raanjhanaa imo. But then, the movies she signed up until Neerja (her best performance) wasn't giving her much scope to grow much as an actor.

Hope Hirani pushes her in Dutt biopic.

BO not withstanding, I feel the ALR movie is a flowerpot role for the actress. With the dwarf character essayed by SRK, much of the focus will revolve around building him up in the world he's placed in.

ALR movie will not be flower pot role but rest of them are. Sonam in padman may have same role as Huma in Jolly and Dutt has such a huge cast that Sonam might get hardly any screen space. Veere is the only thing that can work in her favour if it ever takes off.

To be clear about Sonam's line up :

- Dutt : her presence was announced as being a cameo (maybe an extended one), it's the excitment surrounding her reunion with Ranbir that made it be such a big deal. It's been 10 years since Saawarya.

- Padman : Sonam is bigger than Huma so her role might be bigger and the director's aren't the same. R. Balki gives an important place to women in his movies (Cheeni Kum, Paa, Ki&Ka). Then again, if the role is interesting, Sonam would do it whatever the lenght.

- Veery Di Wedding : It's a movie about a bunch of friends so it's more likely that all of them will have more or less the same amount of screentime. It'd the way the characters will be written that will make the difference.

I don't want to see Deepika in this movie because her pairing with SRK is really tiring imo. There are other actresses so it's high time SRK experiments with new pairings.

Katrina might not be so bad (depends of how the role is written and the amount of effort she puts in it) but I wouldn't want to take the chance lol.
