Who is the better actor and/or who do you think is more popular/made the most impact? Thoughts?

EDIT: Just to be clear, I meant in India as a whole, not most popular/impact in Bollywood or Kollywood.

Kamal Hassan is awesome actor but AB has a huge impact on Bollywood and he was very popular - still is to some extent. He was named millennium global star in 2000. 😃

PERFORMANCE

AB is known as a very good performance wise but single dimensional and on the other hand Kamal sir is a phenomenal,versatile and multi-dimensional performer. Kamal can act all the roles of AB in a chutki, but AB can never perform a "APPU", a "Sagar sangamam", a "Swati mutyam", a "Sadma" and I can go on. So, performance wise AB is no where near Kamal Hasan

POPULARITY

Popularity wise, may be AB wins bcoz BW has larger reach than south. Even for National Awards, when they have gem of performances like Mamooty, mohanlal, Surya, Vikram, they go and give it to AB for Piku,

Kamal Hassan though has a huge impact on Kollywood and still is popular as seen with the BO of Vishwaroopam. Both actors have received many awards. I guess I meant to say which one do you think based on India as a whole rather then by film industry. 😊

AB single handedly ruled the industry. To do that you need to be good. With due respect, I disagree that Kamal can do AB's role. AB's dialogue delivery and body language is phenomenal. There is a reason why AB became mega star. He has one of the best screen presence and fire in his eyes. Kamal himself agreed on that. The nearest rival that AB has in India is Rajnikanth.

Star and Actors are different categories. AB is first star then actor. Kamal is actor first and star later. There can be no comparison between two. There choices are simply different.

The problem with this poll is it caters to two questions...better actor (kamal Hassan imo)...more popular n more impact (Amitabh without any doubt)

Yes I am aware. I wanted to know people's answer to both questions but didn't know how to phrase it in one poll and didn't want to spam the forum by posting two polls. 😳 I opened comments though so people could discuss the two questions thoroughly and vote on which actor they like better if they want to.

Kamal Hassan is one of the best actor in the world . AB is a good actor but not as good as Kamal Hassan . If the question is about popularity and fan base wise AB will win
