Tamannaah Bhatia thanks fans as Stree 2 song Aaj Ki Raat crosses one billion views

Bollywood actor Tamannaah Bhatia marked a major milestone this week as Aaj Ki Raat, her dance number from Stree 2, crossed one billion views on YouTube. The actor acknowledged the moment by sharing behind the scenes clips from the shoot and thanking viewers for their continued support.

Tamannaah posted a short reel on Instagram featuring candid moments from the song’s filming. One clip shows her reviewing a take on the monitor with choreographer Vijay Ganguly and the crew. When Ganguly suggests another take, Tamannaah is heard replying with a light hearted “No!”. Another video captures her rehearsing the steps while Rajkummar Rao, Pankaj Tripathi, Abhishek Banerjee and Aparshakti Khurana watch from behind.

Sharing the video, Tamannaah wrote, “From 1st view to 1 Billion Views! Thank you for all the love.” The post quickly drew reactions from fans and colleagues, many congratulating her on the achievement.

Aaj Ki Raat features vocals by Madhubanti Bagchi and Divya Kumar, with lyrics by Amitabh Bhattacharya and music composed by Sachin Jigar. The song emerged as one of the most talked about tracks from Stree 2, which released last year. Directed by Amar Kaushik, the film starred Shraddha Kapoor and Rajkummar Rao in lead roles and went on to earn nearly Rs 900 crore globally, becoming one of 2024’s biggest box office successes.

In an earlier interview with The Lallantop, Tamannaah spoke about the unexpected reach of the song. She recalled several women telling her that their children would only eat meals if Aaj Ki Raat was playing in the background. “I can’t tell you the number of mothers who have told me this,” she said, adding that children respond more to the rhythm than the lyrics at that age.

The song’s widespread popularity cut across age groups, social media platforms and languages, contributing to its steady climb in views months after release.

On the work front, Tamannaah is currently gearing up for VVAN: Force of the Forest. The upcoming film stars her opposite Sidharth Malhotra and is directed by Deepak Mishra and Arunabh Kumar. Set in Central India, the mythology based thriller is scheduled to hit theatres on May 15.

With Aaj Ki Raat continuing its digital run, Tamannaah’s presence in mainstream cinema remains firmly in focus.
