Kamal , Mohanlal I agree , Mammooty I am not sure whether he is versatile comparing to Mohanlal and Kamal . Late Thilakan was another versatile excellent actor in India ,par excellence .Prakash Raj is Versatile too

I still take AB over Mohanlal, Mammoty or Kamal Hassan, Zero use of props, serious weighty stories and zero gimmicks and yet made bigger impact and BO than all the 3. Even at 70, he has whipped the three who are 10-15 year younger than him... 😆

That is because be it in film industry or in sports Hindi speaking people are partial and they will hardly accept talented people from South .
Check the facts , Mohanlal's market value is equal to AB's value now . His latest movie entered into 150 club which is huge comparing to small industry like mollywood , all his films released in 2016 were super hits .
AB is more popular than the other three because the reach of Bollywood films is huge comparing to South film industry .

Bachchan in all departments...if he cannot do some roles as good as Kamal did then Kamal also cannot do certain roles like Bachchan...the way Bachchan played angry man mixed with comedy and emotions no one can bring the same level of intensity and charisma
