Spirit finally locks theatrical release as Prabhas and Triptii Dimri starrer gears up for global rollout

Prabhas and Triptii Dimri’s much discussed film Spirit has finally locked its theatrical release date, setting expectations for a long wait among fans. The action drama, directed by Sandeep Reddy Vanga, will release worldwide on March 5, 2027, the makers announced on Friday.

The confirmation puts to rest months of speculation around the film’s timeline. Spirit has been in the spotlight since its announcement, largely due to the combination of Prabhas and Vanga, who last delivered a blockbuster with Animal. Triptii Dimri’s casting opposite Prabhas has also added to the curiosity surrounding the project.

Sharing the release update on social media, Prabhas posted the date along with a brief note confirming the global rollout. The announcement triggered immediate reactions online, with fans expressing excitement as well as impatience over the two year wait. Comments calling it one of the most awaited films began trending soon after the post went live.

The makers had earlier unveiled the first look posters of Prabhas and Triptii Dimri on January 1, 2026, coinciding with New Year celebrations. The visuals hinted at an intense, rugged character for Prabhas, aligning with Vanga’s signature storytelling style. Triptii’s look, meanwhile, sparked discussion across platforms, though details about her character remain under wraps.

Spirit is set to release in nine languages, underlining its scale as a pan international project. Apart from Indian languages such as Telugu, Hindi, Tamil, Kannada and Malayalam, the film will also be released in English, Mandarin, Japanese and Korean, signalling a wider global push.

The cast includes Vivek Oberoi, Prakash Raj and veteran actress Kanchana in key roles. While plot details are being kept tightly guarded, the film is expected to explore darker emotional themes, a recurring element in Vanga’s recent work.

Spirit is produced by Bhushan Kumar, Pranay Reddy Vanga, Krishan Kumar and Prabhakar Reddy Vanga. The film is backed by T Series Films and Bhadrakali Pictures, two banners associated with large scale productions.

With the release date now officially confirmed, the focus shifts to the long promotional cycle ahead, as audiences wait to see how Spirit shapes up on the big screen.
