Kareena Kapoor revisits 2016 with unseen pregnancy photos, calls it the year of the bump

Kareena Kapoor Khan has tapped into the ongoing nostalgia wave on social media by sharing unseen pregnancy photos from 2016. Joining the popular “2026 is the new 2016” trend, the actor revisited a personal phase of her life and called that year “the year of the bump”.

The throwback post includes a series of photographs from when Kareena was expecting her first child, Taimur Ali Khan Pataudi. The images, which had not been shared earlier, offer a glimpse into how the actor balanced work, public appearances and pregnancy at the time.

One of the first pictures is a mirror selfie from 2016. Kareena is seen posing in a cutout printed monokini, with her baby bump subtly visible. The image reflects the actor’s comfort with her changing body during pregnancy. Another photograph shows a tender family moment after Taimur’s birth, with Saif Ali Khan holding the newborn while Kareena sits beside them.

In another image, Kareena poses with Saif while visibly pregnant. There is also a Vogue magazine cover from that period, where she wrote, “Yup, three and a half months in with my Tim.” The cover had sparked conversations back then for featuring a pregnant actor in a leading fashion publication.

Kareena also shared a picture with Karan Johar, noting that he and their friends were unaware of her pregnancy at the time. An unseen hospital photo shows Saif holding baby Taimur, while Kareena’s grandmother Krishna Raj Kapoor appears in the background. She captioned it, “When Dadiji photo-bombed and didn’t know.”

Another collage captures a house party with Saif, Salman Khan, Karisma Kapoor, Malaika Arora, Amrita Arora and friends. Kareena wrote, “48 hours before Tim was born.” Other images also feature her Veere Di Wedding co stars Sonam Kapoor and Rhea Kapoor.

Sharing the post, Kareena wrote, “The year of the bump.” Rhea Kapoor commented, “What a year,” while Amrita Arora wrote, “Best times.” Kusha Kapila said, “Won the trend,” and Anjali Anand added, “Everyone else can go home,” with fire emojis.

Kareena Kapoor and Saif Ali Khan married in 2012. They welcomed Taimur in December 2016 and later became parents to their second son, Jeh Ali Khan, in 2021.
