Seher Hone Ko Hai: Seher forced into an unwanted Nikaah

The wedding venue in COLORS’ Seher Hone Ko Hai glows with lights, music, and carefully planned rituals, but beneath the surface, the atmosphere is heavy with fear and coercion. What should have been a moment of joy turns into a grim reality for Seher, played by Rishita Kothari, who is being driven into a nikaah she never chose. This is not a union shaped by mutual understanding, but one forced by power, pressure, and emotional manipulation.

A Marriage Built on Control

Seher’s struggle deepens as her father, Parvez, resorts to ruthless tactics to bend her will. In his bid to ensure the wedding happens, he crosses a line by confining Seher’s mother, Kausar, stripping Seher of the one emotional support she has left. With her mother’s safety hanging in the balance, Seher is left with little room to fight back. Every protest is dismissed, making it painfully clear that her happiness is not part of the decision-making process.

This emotional trap leaves Seher isolated and helpless. Surrounded by preparations and rituals, she is expected to smile and comply, even as her inner turmoil grows stronger. The wedding becomes less about celebration and more about submission.

An Unaware Groom Walks Into the Storm

On the other side of this forced alliance is Mahid, portrayed by Parth Samthaan, who enters the wedding believing it is fate guiding him. Completely unaware of the manipulation behind the scenes, he assumes Seher has willingly accepted this marriage. As traditions continue and guests watch with anticipation, Mahid steps forward, not realising that Seher’s consent has been taken away long before the vows.

The contrast between Mahid’s belief and Seher’s reality makes the situation even more unsettling, as two lives move toward a commitment built on silence and deception.

Danger and Disapproval Lurk Nearby

As the ceremony progresses, cracks begin to show. Nazima, unable to accept the unfolding events, plans a drastic move to stop the wedding by unleashing a deadly snake at the venue. Her reckless plan adds real danger to an already volatile situation.

At the same time, Husna Phupi arrives from Aligarh, furious that Mahid has married Seher instead of Nazima. Having raised Mahid after his mother’s suicide, her influence is undeniable. Her anger and harsh words intensify the tension, making it clear that unresolved conflicts are far from over.

A Risky Bid for Freedom

With time running out and every step watched, Seher makes one last attempt to change her fate. She secretly contacts Dr. Fareed, hoping he can bring her mother to the wedding venue and help her escape before the final vow seals her future. As secrets surface and emotions collide, the wedding teeters on the brink of collapse.
