Chapter 1

The huge hustle bustle inside the Gupta house, everyone were busy in their respective works. Khushi was sitting in the middle of the ladies, they were applying haldi on her but Khushi didn't seem to be excited.

"Khushi? What are you thinking?" A lady asked, that broke the chain of her thoughts, she shook her head in no.

"Yes.. We know what you are thinking..! You must be thinking about Arnav. Right?" Another lady teased her, Khushi gave her faded smile in reply.

Soon the ladies took her in the room, there she took bath. Khushi was sitting alone in the room when her mother walked in, "Khushi?"

Khushi looked up at her and saw Mrs Raizada standing along with her mother. She wiped her tears which were forming out from her eyes and walked to them, she was about to bend to take blessing but Mrs Raizada stopped her saying, "You don't need to do this Khushi." She hugged her.

"Aunty did you talk with him?" Khushi asked.

"I came to talk to you about that Khushi."

Khushi looked on worried. Mrs Raizada made her sit and took sit beside her. "Khushi.. See..! Arnav loves you. And I don't think that your past should come in between you both. It was your past but Arnav is your present and future. And I know my son, if he love someone, he will accept the person with her past."

"But he doesn't like if anyone lie to him." She said lowering her eyes.

"You aren't lying anything Khushi. I am just telling you not to disclose anything right now. You can tell him after your wedding. I assure you, he will accept you then also."

"But..." She hesitated.

"Khushi try to understand.. This wedding is important, and things went in a rush so I couldn't tell your past to him." Mrs Raizada tried to convince her.

"You don't worry Mrs Raizada. Khushi will not say anything to Arnav. This wedding will take place today." Garima assured her.

"You have swear on me, you won't say anything to Arnav until I tell you or else you will see me dead." Mrs Raizada said when Khushi silently cried.

"Khushi?" Garima shook her who was standing in front of Arnav holding garland, she looked around and recalled Mrs Raizada's words. "Khushi, put the garland in his neck." . She looked at Arnav and closed her eyes when a tear fall down from her eyes. "I am sorry Arnav. I want to tell you my past, you have all rights to know but I can't. I am bound with a promise." She thought.

"Khushi?"

She opened her eyes and put the garland in his neck, he looked away. They took sit on their respective place and perform the wedding rituals, finally he put vermilion on her forehead, "You both are married now." They took blessings from elders.

Khushi walked to her mother and lowered her tearful eyes when a tear made its way from her eyes, her mother quickly wiped them before anyone saw, "Khushi you remember what Mrs Raizada said to you?"

"Maa.. It's wrong. He should know my truth, I can't lie to him."

"If you want this marriage work then you have to do this. You have no option. Understand?" Khushi cried and helplessly nodded.

Soon they took place from Gupta house and Raizada's welcome the newly couple in a grand way. Arnav and Khushi performed all the rituals post marriage and then the ladies took Khushi in her room.

Anjali opened the door when Khushi saw the decorated room, she started getting nervous. Anjali made her sit in the middle of the bed. She covered Khushi's face with the veil and said, "Arnav will come anytime." Khushi didn't response as tear rolled out from her eyes. Soon the ladies took leave from there.

Khushi was lost in her thoughts when she heard door's cracking. She could hear his footsteps. Arnav walked in and took sit near to her.

"Khushi?" He placed his hand on hers making her more nervous under his touch. "Relax..!" He hissed and unveiled her, he saw her crying. "Khushi?" He cupped her face in concern.

"Hey Khushi? Why are you crying?"

She didn't response and continue crying, Arnav was confused. "Are you missing your parents?"

"Sshh..! Tomorrow we will go and visit them. Please stop crying." He pulled her gently for a hug.

"I am sorry Arnav." She whispered with sobs.

Arnav parted her from him, he wiped her tears, "Why are saying sorry? It's obvious Khushi. You left your parents and came in a different family. Missing your family is obvious."

"Arnav.. I hide something from you." She confessed making him confuse. "Arnav Gupta family isn't my family. They... They are my in laws."

Arnav stepped back hearing this. Khushi got down from the bed and walked to him crying, "Please don't misunderstand me Arnav. I wanted to tell you everything before our marriage but your maa.."

She paused as Arnav harshly pulled her by her arms, she winced in pain." Why Khushi? Why did you do this to me? You know I hate the people who lie then why? Why you lied to me? Damn it...!" He pushed her and she collapse on the floor.

"I loved you with whole heart. Don't you have trust in me? Khushi, if you told me before, I would have accept you. But... Any relation can't build up on the basis of lie Khushi." He said angrily and looked around the room.

"Everything is lie..!" He pulled the bedsheet making the rose petals fall on floor and he walked out slamming the door behind her.

Khushi opened her eyes frightened and saw herself sitting on the bed. "Maa why didn't you let me tell him?" She cried.

Khushi was sobbing silently when she heard the door was opening, she quickly cleared her eyes. Arnav walked to the bed and took sit next to her. He admired her in the bridal dress and smiled. Arnav unveiled her and saw her. "Khushi?" He lifted her chin when a tear fall on his finger.

"Are you crying?" He asked worried. "Khushi relax. I understand your situation and I won't force you." Khushi looked at him. "Khushi I love you and I also want you to love me and for that if I have to wait for my entire life then I will wait. But I promise you, no matter if you love me or not but I will always love you and will be with you always." He said and wiped her tears.

"Arnav..." She paused when he looked up with a hope. "You are nice." He smiled.

"Now go and change into something comfortable. You must be tired." She nodded.

After some time, Khushi walked out from washroom and saw Arnav was rearranging his wardrobe. Hearing her footsteps, he turned and saw her in a white Kurti with Pajama, he couldn't move his eyes from her. And Khushi was feeling shy under his gaze, she was looking around when his trance broke. "Sorry..! You are looking beautiful.." He said looking away. "Anyway Khushi I rearranged my clothes now you can keep your clothes here." He said showing her the empty side.

"Thank you."

"Thank you?" He chuckled and walked to her, he took her hand in him saying, "Khushi I should thank you.. Thank you for coming into my life."

She smiled in reply. "Okay.. Now come and sleep." He took her near to the bed and made her lay on the bed and covered her with the blanket. "Good night..!" He said caressing her hair and switched off the light of her side. Khushi saw him walking towards the window when tears escaped from her eyes.
