For once I've tried my hands on writing something on Fanfic style..! A simple OS though not short. I hope you enjoy it...Please give it a try...!!
DIL TO BACCHA HAI JI...!!
"Rang chadhe, umang badhe; dil me yaari taazi ho;
Sath chale, aashish mile, apne saare bas raazi ho..!
Hatho me ho hath sada, dosti ho, rishteydaari ho;
Jivan bhi rangeen bane, jab 'Mann' me Ishqbaazi ho...!!"
The Oberoy mension is decorated like a bride today...! All the designer lights, diyas, colourful drapes, beautiful flowers...add to the glory!
The elder Oberoys, ready in their ethnic traditional wares, are all busy in hosting guests for today's festival. Today is the festival of faith, the festival of trust, wellbeing and togetherness, the festival to celebrate love..!! Today is Karva Chauth..! a special day for all the married and to-be-married couples. They fast for the whole day, without food or even a single drop of water for the prosperity and the long, peaceful and happy life of their beloved betterhalves. Usually ladies keep the fast, but at Oberoys couple fast for each other...! How sweet...!!! isn't it? But not for everyone...
Shivaay Singh Oberoy, the eldest son of Oberoys, don't agree. Standing in front of mirror, he's all ready in light pink shervani with cream salwar...looking dashing than ever...!! except for the slight frown on the forehead. He is confused, rather irritated. In his words "I just don't understand, what is the connection between getting married and not eating the whole day..?"
Omkara is content with his life. Priyanka is all set with fast like always.. While Rudra, sabse chhota, sabse khota, is missing his Proteinshake like hell...!! Soumya does diet on the the Only day in a year, today by keeping a fast. Anika is organizing the function today. She is not having a fast, but is so busy in doing all the preparations, that didn't get the time to eat anything.
Rudra is waiting for the moon to show up. He's craving so much that he starts blabbering which ends up in a fight between him and Soumu.
Shivay enters the venue, greeted by his Tia Baby! and his overexcited mother...!
He is not really in a mood but the light breeze touches his face, letting him forget everything and enjoy the most soothing feeling. Ah! how he could feel whenever Anika is around..! He turns to look at the most mesmerizing sight in front of him...
There she is..! Simply flaunting the yellow and pink lehenga with minimal make-up and accessories. His heart skipped a beat as Anika enter with the plate full of Diyas. Shivay is stunned to see her...and before he could think anything, words escape his mouth
"So Beautiful...!!"
He couldn't take his eyes off her...a beautiful smile comes on their lips. Unable to bear his charming gaze, she looks away.
"Aww! Thank you, ShivayBaby!!"
And the words brings him back to the real world...He looks at Tia awkwardly but feels soft tinkles in the heart at the sound of Anika's bangles. She moves to place diyas on the decore, his gaze follows her. Not for a second his eyes leave her. She brings and sets all the aarti thals, with charni, diya, water, some sweets, decorated with flowerpatels...
Here Rudra is being hyper, paces here and there waiting for moon.
"Ye chand bhi na..! aaj itne nakhre dikha raha he..!
Roz to abhi aa jata hai na.."
"Oh come on Rudra!, ab isme ham kya kar sakte hai?"
"Tum chhodo, Arre yaar, ye moon kab niklega?" She rolls her eyes.
"Patience Rudra, don't be a cry baby..!" teases Soumya.
"Haww! I'm not a cry baby!" Rudra almost shouts.
"You are! A CRY BABY!!"
"MOTI stop.."
"Haww! Rudi ke bachhe, don't call me that"
And their fight is on...and on.
In all the arguments, all of a sudden Soumya starts coughing...Rudra opened his mouth for counter attack, but looking at her, concern took over. He forgot what he was saying as she coughed harder...
"Dekho chand aaya..!!" somebody exclaimed in excitement..!
He rushed to bring her water. At first she ignored him and turned to a side. Her face went all red because of coughing. He melted a bit, moved in front of her holding a glass of water
"Paani pi lo".
She denied. It was hurting him to see her like that. He put his one hand around her shoulder, and with other made her drink water. It eased her little. Caressing her hand he asked
"Sumo tu thik to hai na?" She nodded an assuring smile which he returned.
Everyone gathered to look at the moon and started the rituals. Anika hurried to help and check last minute arrangements, when she felt dizzy and lost her balance. She was about to hit the ground...but the moment never came...! She was held in the two protective arms of Shivay, who in no time reached out to her. On looking at the subconscious state of Anika, he couldn't utter a word. He took a glass of water from Tia's thaal, as she was the nearest and made Anika drink it.
He lifted her in his arms in a bridal style and apologizing Tia took her inside the house. He was too tensed to think much, so rushed towards his room. Her one hand was holding his kurta tightly while the other one rested on his shoulder. They were so close to each other, that could hear other's heartbeats..!
He slowly laid her on his bed. The moment he was about to leave, Anika held his hand as if never to let go. He held back and unsure, sat beside her. He was lost in admiring her, when his hand reached to her forehead and slid some loose strands of hair behind her ear. She slightly opened her eyes to see him so near. Their eyes locked and lost in eachother for quite a few moments that seemed like eternity...! Hearts raced...warming up cheeks as she blushed a little..!
Realisation dawned on them as everyone joined them in worry. In a jerk he stood up. Om coughed a little and raised an eyebrow as they still held hands. Leaving his hand, Anika tried to stand up but could not even sit properly.
Looking at her struggle, Shivay lost his cool and almost shouted on her
"Thode waqt ke liye shanti se baith nahi sakti?"
His sudden words startled her. Ab inhe kya ho gaya?
"Jab dekho tab kaam, kaam...thoda khud ka dhyan bhi rakhna sikho", he turned around
"Kuch khaya, kuch piya...pata nahi...bas idhar-udhar bhag-daud machati rehti ho..." Everyone was surprised to see Shivay. Om-Ru exchanged glances as Shivay sharply looked into her eyes
"How can you be so irresponsible Anika??" He shrugged as she tried to say "me woh..."
"Shut up - just shut up..! Agar tumhe kuch ho jata to...mera kya hota..?" On listening to gasps he realized others were also around and modified " sab kitne tension me aa gaye the..."
Turning around, maintaining posture, he ordered in his authoritative voice "Khana lao"
"Mujhe thoda kaam hai..me" she said trying to stand up when Shivay roared
"Not-a-word-Anika...vahi baithi raho"
she stopped and others were spellbound to see shivay in this avatar. He placed foodplate in front of her but she protested
"Mujhe nahi khana...abhi mujhe.." but he cut her
"Har baar tumhari nahi chalegi, samjhi..."
She again tried to say something but
"shh..."
He pulled a chair in front of her and taking a seat said
"kitni exhaust ho gai ho..."
He took a morsel and brought it near her mouth to eat
Wind blew slowly as her heart skipped a beat...The firmness on his face left her speechless. She couldn't deny it and ate from his hand.
She just stared at him...he gave her another bite
One more...
Gathering herself, she tried "Arre, me..." But "Shh.."
He put another bite in her mouth...silence spread...
Until...
Rudra broke out making a puppy-face
"Aise to bhaiya mujhe khilate hai...Bhaiya..! aaj maine subh se Maine Kuch nahi khaya...mujhe bahot bhookh lagi hai...hm..hn..Bhaiya, mujhe bhi khilado na..." he sat beside Anika saying
"Aa..."
By giving slight tap on his forehead, Shivay gave him a bite
"Nautanki..!! ye le, tu bhi kha le"
Smiling, Omkara pulled a bean bag and adjusted himself beside Shivay
"Mujhe bhi"
"Ek minute O, aapne to aaj vrat bhi nahi rakha, phir aapko kis khushi me?" Rudra interrupted with a mouthful of food.
"Arre, vrat nahi hai to kya hua? Shivay ke hath se khane ka mauka kaun chhode?" Shivay placed hand on his shoulder with a proud smile, offered him a bite.
"Point" Rudra smiled as Priyanka said in a sweet voice
"Par Bhaiya, maine to pura din vrat rakha, mujhe bhi to bhookh lagi hai..."
Lovingly Shivay caressed her head "Aaja, tujhe bhi khilata hu"
Soumya smiled with teary eyes. While Anika looked at Shivay in a pleasant surprise, thinking "Ye Mr. Stone Singh Oberoy, jaise dikhte hai utne patthardil hai nahi..! Ye apni family se kitna pyar karte hai na.!" She smiled as he placed another bite in Rudra's mouth. Her trance broke when Rudra said
"Aaj itne saalo baad bachpan ki yaad aa gayi...You know Anika di, when we were young, Bhaiya aise hi ham sab ko apne hatho se khilate the. Ye sab aapki vajah se hua hai, thank you di..." A bright smile spread on everyone's face, while Shivay was now feeding Prinku.
"Soumu, tu waha kyu khadi hai? Omkara asked. A slight worry wiped Rudra's face, looking at her moist eyes "Who shayad apne bhai ko miss karti hogi" He thought.
"Mujhe thoda left out feel ho raha hai..." she chuckled.
"Arre, aise kaise? Tere Bade balowale Bhaiya hai na?" Pulling her in this family treat, Om happily fed her a bite.
Looking at this sweet family moments, Pinkyji said "Aap sab childrens na yahi kha lo. Main sabke liye khana yahi bhijva deti hu." Then added smiling
"Oh my Maata! Jethaniji, hamare bacche aise kitne cutes lagte hai na? Ye aise hi happys rahe, ha..!"
They left with a smile, as her Jethji said "Vaise vrat to aaj hamne bhi rakhe hai" then turning to Jahnvi added in a bit romantic tone "Koi aise hamara bhi vrat khulvao" She blussed saying "Chaliye".
As everyone was now loughing, eating and treating eachother with food, Anika took one bite in her hand and slowly put it in Shivay's mouth saying
"Billuji..!, Aap bhi apna dhyan kaha rakhte hai? Fast to aapko bhi kholna hai na..!" he just stared at her smiling gestures as she looked away shying...somehow his heart flattered feeling content and peace...
Daadi happily thanked god praying for the happiness of her children while 'ShivIka' thought in unison "Ye hame ho kya raha hai...?"
