Actually the analogy is on point. The tumour may or may not be life threatening just the same way using fertility drugs to impregnate a woman whose body is not capable of carrying a baby may or may not be life threatening for both mother and child.
Before every experimental procedure patient and their family research every single risk associated with it. No one wants to put their loved ones at risk for unnecessary experiments. And yes, I am saying this is unnecessary. Because Dev married Sonakshi knowing she can't be a mother and knowing his mother wants a grandchild. That means at that time Sonakshi was more important than a baby. Then the moment he had to come clean and tell the truth and stick by his wife, why did he continue to lie? Why suddenly any experiments on Sonakshi's body is alright as long as his lie doesn't get caught and they don't find his deceit?
Using fertility treatment without the patient's consent is not the same a life and death situation anyone has to choose. It's not that someone has to choose between a surgery that might save their life vs. their certain death. The difference here is a person's certain healthy, happy life vs. forceful pregnancy which may or may not risk their or the baby's health.
Only the patient can make that judgement call knowing every single risk and WILLINGLY undertake them. No one else has the right.
And if you think Ishwari won't shower pampering on anyone who is carrying Dev's baby, you have not been listening what she has clearly been saying. She never did anything for Sonakshi until she got pregnant and we will see soon enough her reaction when she finds out that she can't be pregnant. You are more than welcome to come and comment then.
Ishwari gives good advice to everybody. She excels at that. But she never follows through them herself. She is a selfish woman who only cares about her son and that too only when he does what she says. Period. CVs has never shown her as anything else.

Undoubtedly, Ishwari has an obsession with her son. And she has proved it several times over. But she also gives good advice to her daughters. Let's not become so cynical that opinions are formed of a character and kill the desirous change. Let wait for the Creatives to play out their script.
