Today's topic - Priorities!!!

In today's busy lives, when we have to fill multiple shoes all at the same time, the only thing that can help us - barring cloning ourselves - is prioritizing.

Now why I am talking about priorities today? Well, if I tell you a story, you will get it.

Say, there was a man who had a mother and a wife. The mother and the wife were always at loggerheads.

Suddenly one day, the mother found out that she has a tumour in her brain. The wife thought there is no point fighting with a sick lady so she started to care for the mother. The mother thought there is no point fighting when her days are numbered so she also started to be nice to her daughter-in-law.

The man saw this and was very pleased that he finally had peace in his household.

But the doctor called him one day and said that his mother doesn't have a tumour.

The man told the doctor, "Tell you what, since my mother and my wife are finally happy with each other, why don't you hide the fact that my mother is fine from them and continue your treatment in secret so that she gets a itty-bitty tumour, not life threatening but just enough so that the current state continues? So that my lies turns into truth and I have zero accountability and also so that I can have peace at my home."

Would you say that's a fine example of a son?

Or would you say that the son should understand that at this point his mother's health is more of a priority than his mother and wife playing happy family so that he doesn't have to choose between the two?

Precisely!!!

Now coming back to our story. What do you think is the priority here?

Sonakshi's health which might get damaged from an experimental treatment or she and Ishwari continue to live in Fool's paradise so that Dev doesn't have to be torn between his mother and wife?

For those who don't know, here's a little glimpse of what Fertility Drugs can do to a woman.

https://www.verywell.com/what-are-the-potential-risks-of-fertility-drugs-1960190

Now imagine, you are suffering from those symptoms but you don't know why and then you find out that it was because your husband decided that since his mother and you want a baby, you will be perfectly fine with having lab experiments done with your body without your consent and knowledge.

How that will make you feel? Would you feel any better than those lab rats that have no say in what is done to them?

Let's not forget, a husband can't give consent on your behalf unless you are mentally unstable or in a coma or brain dead.

In life, we prioritize situations thinking what is more important.

In this consideration comes the consideration what is more important to us vs. what is more important to the people we love.

I was asked what Dev could do.

Let's consider an alternate, but honest scenario.

Dev finds out that Sonakshi is not pregnant. He tells his family the truth that she is not pregnant.

If his mother's behaviour again turns against Sonakshi, then he can tell his mother, "Maa, I love Sonakshi. You brought her back into my life again. Last few days you have showed to me how loving you can be to her. So now that she is not pregnant, why did your love disappear? Is your love so conditional that it only exists when she can deliver a baby? Would you do the same to my sisters? Would you do it to me? What if Riya's in-laws treat her like you are treating Sonakshi, would you like that?"

If his mother and/or Sonakshi insist for a baby, then he can say that he can't be a father which is truth. If he is so against alternate ways to have a baby like adoption or fears his mother's reaction to IVF or surrogate baby, then he can't be a father if Sonakshi can't be a mother.

OR he could tell the truth and stand firm by Sonakshi through thick and thin and let his mother know that if Sonakshi leaves him, he still won't marry again and hence never have a child anyway, so if she wants to see him happy, she has to accept Sonakshi with or without the baby since it doesn't matter to him or he won't have married her.

In all cases, he won't have been playing Russian Roulette with Sonakshi's health and won't be lying to both his mother and wife.

So he could have done the right thing. Instead he did exactly opposite.

Say if a woman is told by her husband that he is not sure if he wants kids, so she gives consent to get a vasectomy done on her husband without his consent? How would the husband feel when he wakes up in an operating table?

The husband would walk out and ask for a divorce. The excuse that she did what he wanted, won't cut ice then.

The same thing applies here.

Isn't it funny how society automatically assumes that just because a woman got married, her body, her life, and her consent everything becomes her husband's property to do as he pleases.

That's all I have to say about this track.

I will let you make the judgement now.

P.S. We have a potluck in our office today. So I won't be here from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Have a great Friday...

P.P.S. Today Ishwari came home when she realized that Sona didn't come to office. Neha asked not to care for Sona so much (she never got that much care from her mom).

Ishwari replied: It's her duty to care for Dev's baby.

Hence proved that if tomorrow Dev says that he had an affair and his mistress is carrying Dev's baby, Ishwari would treat his mistress like a daughter ignoring Sonakshi. For her, Sonakshi is just the empty box holding the present.

This is the love Dev is trying to preserve, this is the love Sonakshi is craving for.

And this is what Dev is cheating his wife for which doesn't exist in the first place and is as fake as his promises and words.

I don't think dev will support sona.. If ishwari doesn't support sona... Ishwari thinks only of her happiness especially when things is related betwe'en her and dev... and dev can go any extend to make her happy..even if it costs losing his happiness .. So I think once again tracks are going to be repeated...but I really hope I am proved wrong... Since this topic is a very sensitive matter...

And here people think he loves her. Is he attracted to her? Yes. Does he like her? Yes.

But no one gambles with the person's well-being whom we truly love.

There is nothing in this world that is worth taking a risk with my husband's health. No woman will ever take even the tiniest risk with their husband for all jewels in the world.

I have seen husbands who tell their wives not to take risk with their health for the sake of a child because they can't lose them at any cost.

And here, he is willing to do experimental procedure on his wife to give his mother a baby? What kind of love is this?

You are absolutely right. I said exactly that when Sonakshi forgave Dev without testing if he would have come back to her without his mother saying yes. I said the same thing that how would she know that next time he has to choose between his mother and her, he'd choose her?

This is an extremely sensitive topic for some woman who probably going through the same situation. I wonder if they are hurt and offended by how they are making a mockery of a serious issue on screen.

Hey Tia have fun!!...regarding your post as usual beautifully written👏⭐️...and regarding our show I am not going say much ...will wait for few more episodes to see if I can make some sense out of it ...but if its going to be like any other serial then I am not going to invest much time further on it ...I would just go back and watch the old episodes of our serial and be happy..
Heard the writters have changed...and the serial written by one of them didnt fall under the category of stories that I prefer to see or read...but I will wait for some more time to see how it goes because after a looong time I had one serial which I could call my fav...and somehow I am addicted...probably because of Shaheer and Erica...let us see how it goes..

Today I want to share yet another personal story of mine..I always chose Tia's thread to do so!😆😉

My MIL was opposed to me and my husband getting married. Her problem was that my husband made a decision of marriage himself and it was not arranged by her. This was a first in my husbands family as all of them had arranged marriages.

After a lot of drama we got married but my MIL changed she used to like me before marriage but because of the way the marriage took place she was cordial to me but not loving in the beginning. Then everything changed we were having our first child she had come to help because my parents couldn't and I had severe complications during my birth that the Dr's even said they could not save me. My husband was devastated my MIL broke down and told my husband that this was happening because she did not have any reason to dislike me but she did..she prayed day and night and refused to leave my side in the hospital. After 3 weeks in the hospital my son and I were fine she hugged me and said she was sorry she treated me badly. She called my parents and apologized but said she was very happy that the baby and I were fine..That was the turning point in my relationship with her from then on she was not a MIL but a mother to me so much so that during her last days she suffered from dementia but only recognized my voice.

The point I am trying to make is my MIL understood on her own, she admitted what she did was wrong and decided to mend the relationship on her own because she loved my husband and so loved me first maybe by proxy but then genuinely and thru this all My husband balanced between the two of us that neither one of us felt he was being unfair.

There are so many ways that this story could have portrayed insecurities and how we overcome them in a positive way so as to give hope to the people who are watching but instead they chose to travel on a road where all relationships as I see it is in peril a point of no return so to speak and that is the Gripe I have on this show which once was so beautiful that it struck a personal chord with me.

Thanks Tia for always opening a Thread and giving a place for people to share their thoughts freely so much so I end up sharing my personal stories😆

Have fun at the Potluck are you making something ?

Thank you. 😊 Oh, by all means, enjoy the show. I just want to write my points. My intention is to never tell people to stop watching the show, but to make sure that people understand, specifically unmarried girls that this is not what love is. If I was watching a show for a pure entertainment purpose, then bring out the illogical drama. But I think women who have gone through this need to have someone stand up for them.

@ BOLD...exactly...I am glad that there are people in the forum who think that what Dev did by hiding the report and not discussing with his wife wrt fertility treatment is not right...that also shows that ppl and society are changing and not blindly accepting everything said by husband is rt.

Nice post tia... Like i have been saying all these days... Dev and dev alone is responsible for all the problems in dixit mansion... He needs to admit that ishwari is not god and a human with flaws.. Like ishwari once said - every individual is responsible for their own happiness.. No other person can actually buy or beg it for him/her.. So he should stop trying to make all the dreams come true and actually let the ppl in the house work towards their dreams , let them learn how to find and maintain happiness.. Dev has to learn how to speak truth and only truth and also how yo say NO to undeserving demands. He should also know that he can not bend free will to get what he wants.. He needs to learn that he cannot act god and change destiny... He can definitely try to make it better but cant change ones thibking with money and power..

I guess by end of the show he learns all this... More than ishwari, dev's character is the one that needs massive growth..once he is mature all the others will find their place and willbe able to show what they are capable of..
