Today's topic - Priorities!!!
In today's busy lives, when we have to fill multiple shoes all at the same time, the only thing that can help us - barring cloning ourselves - is prioritizing.
Now why I am talking about priorities today? Well, if I tell you a story, you will get it.
Say, there was a man who had a mother and a wife. The mother and the wife were always at loggerheads.
Suddenly one day, the mother found out that she has a tumour in her brain. The wife thought there is no point fighting with a sick lady so she started to care for the mother. The mother thought there is no point fighting when her days are numbered so she also started to be nice to her daughter-in-law.
The man saw this and was very pleased that he finally had peace in his household.
But the doctor called him one day and said that his mother doesn't have a tumour.
The man told the doctor, "Tell you what, since my mother and my wife are finally happy with each other, why don't you hide the fact that my mother is fine from them and continue your treatment in secret so that she gets a itty-bitty tumour, not life threatening but just enough so that the current state continues? So that my lies turns into truth and I have zero accountability and also so that I can have peace at my home."
Would you say that's a fine example of a son?
Or would you say that the son should understand that at this point his mother's health is more of a priority than his mother and wife playing happy family so that he doesn't have to choose between the two?
Precisely!!!
Now coming back to our story. What do you think is the priority here?
Sonakshi's health which might get damaged from an experimental treatment or she and Ishwari continue to live in Fool's paradise so that Dev doesn't have to be torn between his mother and wife?
For those who don't know, here's a little glimpse of what Fertility Drugs can do to a woman.

Now imagine, you are suffering from those symptoms but you don't know why and then you find out that it was because your husband decided that since his mother and you want a baby, you will be perfectly fine with having lab experiments done with your body without your consent and knowledge.
How that will make you feel? Would you feel any better than those lab rats that have no say in what is done to them?
Let's not forget, a husband can't give consent on your behalf unless you are mentally unstable or in a coma or brain dead.
In life, we prioritize situations thinking what is more important.
In this consideration comes the consideration what is more important to us vs. what is more important to the people we love.
I was asked what Dev could do.
Let's consider an alternate, but honest scenario.
Dev finds out that Sonakshi is not pregnant. He tells his family the truth that she is not pregnant.
If his mother's behaviour again turns against Sonakshi, then he can tell his mother, "Maa, I love Sonakshi. You brought her back into my life again. Last few days you have showed to me how loving you can be to her. So now that she is not pregnant, why did your love disappear? Is your love so conditional that it only exists when she can deliver a baby? Would you do the same to my sisters? Would you do it to me? What if Riya's in-laws treat her like you are treating Sonakshi, would you like that?"
If his mother and/or Sonakshi insist for a baby, then he can say that he can't be a father which is truth. If he is so against alternate ways to have a baby like adoption or fears his mother's reaction to IVF or surrogate baby, then he can't be a father if Sonakshi can't be a mother.
OR he could tell the truth and stand firm by Sonakshi through thick and thin and let his mother know that if Sonakshi leaves him, he still won't marry again and hence never have a child anyway, so if she wants to see him happy, she has to accept Sonakshi with or without the baby since it doesn't matter to him or he won't have married her.
In all cases, he won't have been playing Russian Roulette with Sonakshi's health and won't be lying to both his mother and wife.
So he could have done the right thing. Instead he did exactly opposite.
Say if a woman is told by her husband that he is not sure if he wants kids, so she gives consent to get a vasectomy done on her husband without his consent? How would the husband feel when he wakes up in an operating table?
The husband would walk out and ask for a divorce. The excuse that she did what he wanted, won't cut ice then.
The same thing applies here.
Isn't it funny how society automatically assumes that just because a woman got married, her body, her life, and her consent everything becomes her husband's property to do as he pleases.
That's all I have to say about this track.
I will let you make the judgement now.
P.S. We have a potluck in our office today. So I won't be here from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. Eastern Standard Time. Have a great Friday...
P.P.S. Today Ishwari came home when she realized that Sona didn't come to office. Neha asked not to care for Sona so much (she never got that much care from her mom).
Ishwari replied: It's her duty to care for Dev's baby.
Hence proved that if tomorrow Dev says that he had an affair and his mistress is carrying Dev's baby, Ishwari would treat his mistress like a daughter ignoring Sonakshi. For her, Sonakshi is just the empty box holding the present.
This is the love Dev is trying to preserve, this is the love Sonakshi is craving for.
And this is what Dev is cheating his wife for which doesn't exist in the first place and is as fake as his promises and words.
