Hi all, this is a post which is intended for all of you in the forum. I visited the forum today and found the TRP thread which stated IB maintained a TRP of 2.2 (and 2.8 in Hotstar), post which there was nearly a warzone discussion on it. Well this is just a few points from my side
A show doesn't get the TRP only due to the actors, anything isn't hit only because of them, or else we would never have had a Shahrukh Khan film performing badly at the box office. The most important thing in any show/movie to become a hit is the storyline and presentation which is followed by the performance of the actors. The high TRP definitely indicate that people are liking the actors work but more than that they are liking the current storyline
Now if we discuss about the storyline, excluding the first three/four weeks (and maybe one or two other weeks which might have been an exception) the show has always been about Shivika, and in all probability it would be the same in future too, so any rise or fall in the TRP has always been the indication of the people liking Shivika storyline or not. The TRP of 2.2 is 100% the reaction of people towards Shivika and so was the TRP of 1.4 in the past, I think anyone who disagrees to this is actually just fooling himself/herself
Although I congratulate all of you for the increase in the TRP, but I just want to understand the reason for the warzone, while I don't understand why non- Shivika fans wanted to share the credit of this TRP increase among all of characters, but I am totally blanked in understanding how Shivika fans can give the credit for this increase to Their Shivika
I just want to discuss the episodes that aired during the week 49
3rd December -- Shivika marriage is discussed at the OM and Shivaaye goes to meet Anika at the insistence of Dadi and it is shown that Anika had not removed the Manglasootra
5thDecember-- The reception happens and Shivaaye announces Tia as his wife and Anika sadly accepts it
6th December-- Tia asks Anika for the sandal and she gets those, (thankfully she doesn't help her wear those), rest of the episode was about family reacting to Shivaaye declaring Tia his wife
7th December -- I didn't see that episode, but I think it was the angoothi waali rasam and Anika participating in it due to dadi's insistence
8th December -- Shivika having the Pehli Roti celebration, followed by the Sindoor fiasco and Shivaaye throwing Anika into the pool
9th December-- Anika giving back to Tia and Shivaaye feeling concerned for Anika
Now please let me know in which of the episodes excluding that of the 9th December did you people even find a glimpse of Your Shivika?
This was the week when most of you were very angry at the character assassination of Anika, who was now being made into a crydoll and Shivaaye who was going beyond redemption. I even saw posts about how Gul has lost her loyal audience for the TRP audience. And now suddenly just because the show got a high TRP you people are crediting it to Shivika?
I had though that the people who would be most sad with the higher TRP this week as this high TRP means that henceforth we would see a gradual change of Anika into a Gopi Bahu, but I see just the opposite, you people are happy as Shivika track brought TRPs, people Shivika is THE TRACK of the show, there is no competition. The issue is which Shivika track brings TRP, and as we can see that one is the most regressive tracks possible
I agree that people here have different favorites but I guess all of us have atleast one thing common, we wanted a progressive show, where the heroine is not some mahaan Devi but a woman of substance, which is nowhere there in the show anymore (at least was no where there in the week for which the TRP was released)
And before you people say that now she is back, let me clear one thing. I liked Shivika Nok Jhonk the most in the show (yes I am an Obbros fan, but we hardly see any Obbros moment, Nok Jhonk was the best thing for me which was shown in the show), but you really feel it still makes sense? After what Shivaaye has done to Anika, how even on the earth can replying or taunting of Anika said to be giving back?
Shivaaye felt bad about Sahil because he was a invalid and not because Shivaaye felt that he did wrong. he cried not because he understood his mistake but because his brothers didn't speak to him, and Anika is getting happy for those care thinking that Shivaaye is great
Yes I know most of you expect that once Tia issue and ONS MU is solved Shivika will again become clear, (like if the girl did a ONS Shivaaye was rightful in his acts) and Anika will stand for herself and not use the Oberoi surname, rather start her own business and that would be the Nayi Soch. I really hope this happens but seeing what has brought the TRP I feel that it is a remote possibility, Anika would slowly be converted to the new age Gopi Bahu. (I seriously hope that doesn't happen)
