Im actually a southie! In south very very very rare that DIL or SIL call their Parents in law by maa and papa! They are called athai, mama! Even when they call this way it has a close connection also! It doesnt seem weird!
But more importantly what matters is whether you treat them as parents or not is the thing! Kuch bolne se koi faitha nahi hothi hai! Esaas hona chaiye ki sach mein beta and beti jaisa hi hai!
The way they treat each other is what that matters!
In dev case he made a blunder he didnt think but now he cant suddenly call her auntyđĄ Dev ko pehle hi sochna chaiye tha ki unki maa ki insecurities ki baarey meh! I dont understand! Dev claims he knows him mum well but he was not able to sense this! Even Riya did at the dining table!
