Im actually a southie! In south very very very rare that DIL or SIL call their Parents in law by maa and papa! They are called athai, mama! Even when they call this way it has a close connection also! It doesnt seem weird!

But more importantly what matters is whether you treat them as parents or not is the thing! Kuch bolne se koi faitha nahi hothi hai! Esaas hona chaiye ki sach mein beta and beti jaisa hi hai!

The way they treat each other is what that matters!

In dev case he made a blunder he didnt think but now he cant suddenly call her aunty😡 Dev ko pehle hi sochna chaiye tha ki unki maa ki insecurities ki baarey meh! I dont understand! Dev claims he knows him mum well but he was not able to sense this! Even Riya did at the dining table!

yes had he called her aunty even before marraige then it would still have been acceptable..but calling her ma then going back to calll her aunty is very disrespectful and insulting..

This is the issue...Calling aunty is not a issue...but called Maa...gave respect...and suddenly snatched that...this is the mistake...

But for me...one big issue is on way...If Sona is not going to take any stand...then I will feel more angry with Sona...Then She will deserve more bashing n bad words than Dev from fandom..Or she will become fool any of Dev excuses n forget or ignore this.

I agree with you on this , if she comes to know about this , she should voice her opinion...and not act mute like him...all I want to tell Sona ...pls dont be like the "Dixits" ...be the person you are , a strong independent woman...thats how ur dad raised you...pls dont be doormat
