Magnificent Chandragupt

After the despair of the gloomy dark night

Rises the sun so dazzling

ChandraGupt too was a radiant star so bright

A hero, brave and amazing

When the nation wept at Nand's evil and cruelty

And invaders threatened to rout

He rose like the Himalayas, towering and mighty

Their ends he brought about

Chandra grew up in a humble household

Yet, a boy of flair was he

His courage steel and skills multifold

Distinguished him from the ordinary

The wise king-maker Chanakya realised

The raw diamond in this soil's son

He decided that he would be his student prized

That he would be the chosen one

The teacher and student, shared a bond so special

That changed the fate of nations

The teacher was brilliant, astute and exceptional

And the student exceeded expectations

Chandra challenged his enemies on his mentor's advice

He led the war, with great valour and dare

He trounced them though in numbers they were twice

With prowess and gallantry rare

He blazed through the battlefield in remarkable splendour

Like a lightning on his mount

His competence and command made everyone wonder

His heroics none could count

His twin swords swished and ripped through the foes

His eyes gleamed with fury and rage

Against the powerful rivals, like a phoenix he rose

His image defined courage

By the quirk of ill-fate, with events unforseen

Sadly, he had to retreat

Yet he left his imprints, in all brilliance and sheen

He won even in his defeat.

These above stanzas are so crisp... never read such laconic lines in a long long time... you never spend extra words anywhere throughout yet there is a lilt, a rhythm that resonates a war cry, much to the likes of the background chants of RT in the show 👏. The illustrations are spot on, the man in them dons varying shades of emotionand your lines just set them in motion!

Chandra grew up in a humble household

Yet, a boy of flair was he

His courage, steel and skills multifold

Distinguished him from the ordinary

These pictures that you have picked seems to have struck up a chemistry with the poem stanzas... this is so apt again 👏

^^^amazing lines these are... what description 👏👏

And the part in red, I went all... Wah! Wah!! Wah!!!

By the quirk of ill-fate, with events unforseen

Sadly, he had to retreat

Beshaq... That's evident in these dactylic description that he has inspired⭐️
