Yeah Sona is tortured day and night in Ishwari niwas...whereas Neha did not have to adjust even a bit in Ranveer's home ...

Yeah Dixit house is kaalkothri after all she is made to work like a maid everyday, who is not allowed to have a career of her own,who is expected to be ideal DIL,her husband keeps a eye on her finances ,controls her and doesn't let her spend money, she is restricted from going to her mother's home, husband abuses her every day ,doesn't care a bit about her feelings ,everyday husband doesn't forget to criticize her and reminds her how unlucky he is to have her as his wife ...

Glad to know finally we agree on something 😆

yyy - Yes, what Bijoy does to Saurabh is not at all right, however, he has raised them wonderfully and in the time of need, he guides Saurabh to the direct direction - something which Dixits have never done in their entire lives. 😕 What from where did Bijoy come into the picture I didn't get, let's make a separate topic for that because I thought it's to decide whether Ranveer's house was kaalkothri or Ishwari Kaalkothri Niwaas is actually a kaalkothri 😆

If Dev and Dixits had done all those things you mentioned, I assume it would be interpreted as a show with social message like Saavdhaan India or Crime Patrol where we can see them punished. However, Dixit's torture is too subtle to be caught by the naked eyes. If Dev is not torturing Sona villainously, doesn't mean he is not a pathetic husband and human being 😊. There are no definite list/standard/reference with whom goodness can be measured. Just because Sona is 'allowed' to work, Dixits haven't taken dowry or Ishwari doesn't misbehave on the face with anyone (which Ishwari's alter-personality Dev does btw) doesn't make Dixits GREAT. The moment the word 'allow' comes into the picture, it dictates the slavery of one person to the other. Dil Dhadakne Do movie had a FABULOUS scene with Farhan Akhtar pointing out the concept of equality when the term 'allow' is used. 👏

To have a progressive society, we need to compare ourselves with better things. If we keep comparing ourselves to the bad things which were very usual in the past (like dowry, having check on financial independence of the wife/DIL etc), then there comes the sense of self-satisfaction which becomes a hindrance in the way of betterment, when the truth is, we still have a LONG way to go to make a better society and the tortures which Sona is going through are faced by MANY MANY 30+ yr women. 😕

Well it's OK to list someone's flaws but if we highlight their good points then it's taken in a different manner. It's OK to discuss about his shortcomings but one should not appreciate him for what he is .
If Dev is emotionally handicapped then it's also a fact that he is understanding , respects his wife ,is supportive, gives her freedom to make her own decisions, loves her , appreciates her and values her I his life ...

No one is perfect in this world and not even Sona .Every person I this world I know has some flaws and every husband wife has disgreements , issues and fights where one person would have lost his/her cool and would have yelled at the other person .

For Dev, the pluses below -

1. He is an amazing son. God's gift to an undeserving mother
2. He is an enormous guy who tirelessly tries to serve his whole family even if that means hiding stuffs from them and taking things on himself.
3. He is not misogynist like most MLs out there in the teleworld. He truly appreciates free independent women.👏
4. He was AWESOME to ask Sona not to try to win the Best Bahu pageant unnecessarily and had full support with her when required.
5. He was good to stand up and shut up the aunties who were trying to demean Sona on muh-dikhaayi😉.

Will give him more points when he will give me chance to. So far 5 pros and at least 20 cons I can make out of Dev's characters. Whereas for Sona, I really would need a microscope to find flaws in her (which is also equally annoying 😆), to have a wife like Sona, Dev should have the counts of Pro-Cons reversed. 😳

It reminded me of some previous discussions where one character in the same show was justified and was even appreciated for the snide remarks he makes whereas other characters are criticized for making similar comments .

I agree i should not have deviated from the original topic ...

I am not comparing against any old traditional practice which differentiates between men and women.I am appreciating someone for his good qualities .If he has some flaws then its also a fact that he is someone who has some great qualities in him .

I agree" allowed" was not the right word ...instead of just picking on that ...can we focus on what i wanted to convey ...I was appreciating someone who believes in what you said above and believes in equality and agree that his wife doesn't need anyone's permission to resume her work ...let me clarify i am not comparing him against those evil husband ..i am just stating that its hard to find guys with such mentality and its truly a quality a women looks for in her husband ...

I think i gave an idea for the new topic where this "allowed" one will misinterpreted and will discussed to death .I can see that coming 😆..

He should consider himself lucky that he at least got 5 ..😆 instead of negative marking ...

Regrading bold part ..I am not at all surprised to read that ...there are many flaws in her too which i can list but i think I would be wasting my time by doing so ...😳

Haha for Dev Ishwari is god like who can make no mistakes and for some Sona is like God who has never made any mistakes ...😉..different perspectives makes the forum very interesting

@ yyy - 😆 No no dear, I make topics only on Dev/Ishwari and very rare about Sona, I dont make topics on any member's posts etc so don't worry wait for Dev to make another blunder and my next post coming, not on 'allowing' etc etc 😆😳

On Sona, oh well if you read my posts about her post her decision to marry Dev, they are not really very appreciative 😆. But I have to choose between the less of 2 evils, I would go with Sona since her downfall is not bothering anyone but herself and her fans, whereas Dev's actions trigger negative waves all around him and impacts others' lives. 🤓 Feel free to post anything on anyone, I dont mind but as long as in this topic I think better we focus on Dev's words to Ranveer and his utterly disgraceful behaviour towards Tina which is indeed of a level of HR department escalation 😉

@ HaHa Ha Well said. Five is a great number for Dev. He is blessed.

Please make a post on Sona and list out you know what. Fed up of reading only her great virtues and her Mahanata. I know only me or you can do that. No one else. Spare some time please for that.. A sincere request.
