yyy - Yes, what Bijoy does to Saurabh is not at all right, however, he has raised them wonderfully and in the time of need, he guides Saurabh to the direct direction - something which Dixits have never done in their entire lives. 😕 What from where did Bijoy come into the picture I didn't get, let's make a separate topic for that because I thought it's to decide whether Ranveer's house was kaalkothri or Ishwari Kaalkothri Niwaas is actually a kaalkothri 😆
It reminded me of some previous discussions where one character in the same show was justified and was even appreciated for the snide remarks he makes whereas other characters are criticized for making similar comments .
I agree i should not have deviated from the original topic ...
If Dev and Dixits had done all those things you mentioned, I assume it would be interpreted as a show with social message like Saavdhaan India or Crime Patrol where we can see them punished. However, Dixit's torture is too subtle to be caught by the naked eyes. If Dev is not torturing Sona villainously, doesn't mean he is not a pathetic husband and human being 😊. There are no definite list/standard/reference with whom goodness can be measured. Just because Sona is 'allowed' to work, Dixits haven't taken dowry or Ishwari doesn't misbehave on the face with anyone (which Ishwari's alter-personality Dev does btw) doesn't make Dixits GREAT. The moment the word 'allow' comes into the picture, it dictates the slavery of one person to the other. Dil Dhadakne Do movie had a FABULOUS scene with Farhan Akhtar pointing out the concept of equality when the term 'allow' is used. 👏
To have a progressive society, we need to compare ourselves with better things. If we keep comparing ourselves to the bad things which were very usual in the past (like dowry, having check on financial independence of the wife/DIL etc), then there comes the sense of self-satisfaction which becomes a hindrance in the way of betterment, when the truth is, we still have a LONG way to go to make a better society and the tortures which Sona is going through are faced by MANY MANY 30+
yr women. 😕
I am not comparing against any old traditional practice which differentiates between men and women.I am appreciating someone for his good qualities .If he has some flaws then its also a fact that he is someone who has some great qualities in him .
I agree" allowed" was not the right word ...instead of just picking on that ...can we focus on what i wanted to convey ...I was appreciating someone who believes in what you said above and believes in equality and agree that his wife doesn't need anyone's permission to resume her work ...let me clarify i am not comparing him against those evil husband ..i am just stating that its hard to find guys with such mentality and its truly a quality a women looks for in her husband ...
I think i gave an idea for the new topic where this "allowed" one will misinterpreted and will discussed to death .I can see that coming 😆..
