But then Dev has this habit of behaving like that because he thinks that as he has money he can get away with whatever he wants. A side effect of his days spent yearning for money and a mother who made money equivalent to God.
He is soft and considerate only with people he loves or cares about with the rest he has the remarkable capability of being inconsiderate and even cruel. Be it Sona before falling in love stage, Ritwik and now ranveer.

Also just wanted to point out one thing for those who keep on defending Ishwari and her alter ego Dev in the name of their Dukh bhari kahani . My grandparents were very rich people who had so much money they used to sleep with a gun. Had huge tracts of land, horses and a house full of servants . My grandmother was the daughter of a high ranking government official and in those days had been given a proper education.

And then one fine day partition of India took place and they had to run to India with absolutely nothing and three very small children. There wasn't anything to even feed the children forget a place to sleep.

My grandfather didn't have a professional degree. He had to sell tea on a thela. But with their hard work they slowly established themselves and gave their children excellent education.

But did I ever see my grandparents behave like Ishwari. No. Is my father scarred like Dev or Neha. No. Did my grandmother ever give my father a lecture on how much she sacrificed for him. No.

I know as a matter of fact that for paying my father's IIT fees my grandparents forego their dinner for a few months. Something my father told us. My grandmother never mentioned this even once in my living memory

Payal that's a very inspiring story indeed 👏. I am glad you've come out of it like a WINNER ! 👏⭐️

Yes, many people face hurdles in the beginning of their career. Only a snob would forget his roots and insult others if their stature is less than them. This guy definitely doesn't deserve to run a company like that. 🥱 Nothing is worse than having a mannerless moody boss.😕 I wonder if Dev's horrible mistakes or behaviours will always be forgotten by CVs and be covered with lame 'stalking-crying' drama . One after another immaturity to shadow the previous immature decisions/comments. 😕

And for again and again poking Dev's face with gratitude nonsense, below 2 quotes for Ishwari -

And out of all the things that Dev could say,he was giving advice on responsibilities towards wife 🤣Somebody show him the mirror please. The only reason his marriage is working is because of Sonakshi.(who has undergone a drastic personality change it seems😳)
There was no remorse on Dev's end for saying anything to Ranveer. He called it Ranveer's "ego".Very convenient🤔If somebody dares to think about their self respect or hard work, they are being egoistic. He did not even bother to understand what Ranveer was saying.Thinking only about themselves is a special trait the Dixits possess. They have suffered so much,so now the world must bow down for them.Everybody else in the world is living a dream life with no problems.🥱

If this is how Dev solves problems, then I don't know how his company is still standing.😕

Dev's behavior with Tina is appalling. No employee would tolerate this rudeness.Everybody around Dev is so understanding & accepting towards his behavior that its unreal. When my superior behaves moody(that too not anywhere near how Dev does), me & other trainees shoot glares at him.Understanding & accepting it meekly is not even on radar.

Amazing post as always and loved your responses in Tia's thread as well.I so want to write a longer reply but my mind is preoccupied with my exams starting in a week🤓

@ Bold - Tell me about it Rose 🤣 It was really funny when Dev has started thinking that he is the ideal husband etc etc 😃 I agree about the ego comment, he should look into his own collar when he talks about others' ego. 😕 By not bowing down to his unfair and demeaning insulting demands = ego, be it Sonakshi or Ranveer 👎🏼. I remember Neha's first proposal guy - he wanted to give him 30% of his company share in exchange of agreeing to not having a baby ! I mean was he freaking kidding us ? 😲😕 We should have understood his peasize brain/intelligence that time itself. Not sure with such disastrous values and judgemental skills, he established such big business How I wish they had showed the journey of Dev I really have HUGE doubt on his interpersonal skills which is one of the key ingredients of a good businessman😆

We have seen it targeted towards Sona, towards Ranveer, towards Ritwik, towards Tina etc. When he gets his way, he is overly charming. But when things aren't moving to his will, his arrogance kicks in...

But then who else have we seen exactly like that? Hummm... let me think. Ishwari and Neha.

Ishwari is the epitome of modern thinking when she is encouraging Sona to go to work. But when things doesn't go her way, she turns on her within seconds.

Neha is very sweet when she is happy. But again, she can be equally cruel when she is unhappy.

So the apple didn't really fall much further than the tree.

Moving on to the Kal Kothri comment.

As far as I know, Dev or Neha wasn't born with a silver spoon stuck in their throat (I was going to use a$$, but then this is a public forum). So Ranveer can accuse Dev and Ishwari for putting Neha in Kal Kothri in her childhood. Just like they had no money then to live a better life, Ranveer doesn't have any money now either.

Besides, Kal Kothri by definition is Black hole of a prison where people suffocate because the air is toxic and stale. If I go by definition, Dixit house is a bigger kal kothri than Ranveer's house can ever be.

Neha had all the respect and honour as befits a newly wedded bride from Ranveer's family. They tried their best with what little they had to accommodate Neha's needs. Money might be tight, but respect and love wasn't...

On the other hand, Sona lives in a gilded cage of minefields.

One false step and insults and humiliation blow up in her face and she is shown the little "X" mark outside the family circle which is her spot. Every time she tries to enter the inner family circle, she is neatly caged back into the her place outside the boundary.

But Dev, being the loving husband, remembers to pat her head for Sona understanding her place before he heads back into his family circle.

I wonder which one sounds more like Kal Kothri? In my opinion, the later. But then I love my freedom more than I value my comforts.

@ Bold - THIS.

I SO wanted to post this yesterday, that it's so called Ishwari Nivaas whose environment is so toxic that a sane person can choke to death pretty easily. Look at Sonakshi Bose, how she, in order to save herself from suffocation/choking, transformed her character by compromising with her self-respect 👏

I have never seen more of an understanding family than Ranveer's. Ranveer's bhabhi is extremely sweet and both his mother and SIL have insisted Ranveer to move out with Neha just for the sake of Neha the new bride, something which Ishwari and the whole Dixit clan including Mamaji can never even THINK of ! 🥱 Yes monetary problems are there, but that's secondary and can be dealt with. But having such in-laws is really luck which Neha had, but Sona didn't.

I can't wait for Ranveer to ask Dev the rightful question about putting himself into Ranveer's position. 😡 Ishwari, just by hearing the question, might suffer from a mild stroke 😕

Thanks everyone for not throwing tomatoes on me 😊 I am glad many people found that comment utterly disgusting. How would Ranveer ever be normal with Dev again ? Dev should thank his stars that all his extended family members are so sane, be it Bose or Ranveer's, else who can deal with these cheap crappy Dixits 👎🏼

I thought when you are concerned about your loved ones you have every right to express your concerns in every possible way ..be it taunting or insulting or making fun of others .After all you are worried about your loved one's future .
Oh my bad I guess this rule applies only to Bijoy Bose .

Each word Bijoy Bose speaks is 200% right, I dare anyone challenges that 😆 Starting from calling Dev a boy who still catches Maa ka pallu, to Ishwari being selfish to GKB and Dixits being classless, why 200%, even 10000% right judgments 😆.

If Ranveer or Sona calls Ishwari Kaalkothri Niwaas as Kaalkothri, I doubt if anyone would have a problem in that, because it is what it is. A suffocating, toxic and painful environment which kills a happy soul residing in it. But from which angle a happy-go-lucky and balanced families like Sona's or Ranveer's are Kaalkothri ? Did Ranveer and Sona grow up as emotionally crippled ? No, only Dixits products are defective. Bijoy Baba has a point 😛😆

What you say is right, just a small difference being - Baba's allegations and taunts are full of truth, comes out of concern for his daughter who WAS suffered by and due to Dixits once, whereas Dev's taunts are FAR from reality and is product of his own arrogance, ignorance to correct his own sister, insensitivity and total disregard for the person who is not bowing down to his whining. 😊

cant compare. bijoy has been bang on with everything he says. his observations and comments are astute and based on years of experience. neither Ishwari nor Dev have ever proven him wrong!

...I gueas insulting his son and making fun of him is also justified after all he is Bijoy Baba who only speaks truth...a son who holds his Maa ka pulla spoke against his Maa when he thought his wife was forced to follow their traditions and culture ,Maa ka ladla agreed for non veg food going against his mom's belief ..Yes making fun of others culture and claiming theirs to be the best is a sign of classy people ...

Yeah Sona is tortured day and night in Ishwari niwas...whereas Neha did not have to adjust even a bit in Ranveer's home ...

Yeah Dixit house is kaalkothri after all she is made to work like a maid everyday, who is not allowed to have a career of her own,who is expected to be ideal DIL,her husband keeps a eye on her finances ,controls her and doesn't let her spend money, she is restricted from going to her mother's home, husband abuses her every day ,doesn't care a bit about her feelings ,everyday husband doesn't forget to criticize her and reminds her how unlucky he is to have her as his wife ...

Glad to know finally we agree on something 😆

There seems to be a notion that just because dev is not as bad as some of the husbands out there, what he does it ok and that sonakshi is lucky. sure dev let's her work, control her own finances and does not abuse her like some cruel husbands out there but that does make him a good husband. like it is ok that dev is insensitive, rude, ignorant, and emotionally handicapped but sona is still the luckiest woman around because he lets her work and does not slap her.

Bijoy is not right always..there are times when he is biased towards his daughter and has overlooked her mistake .He has insulted others culture .Whatever happened in the past cannot justify his misbehavior ..if he was not convinced about Dev he shouldn't have agreed for the marriage ...

How can one justify the way he behaves with his son and never leaves a single opportunity to insult him ...
