Mumbai, October 4: Bollywood actor Salman Khan is all set to launch a new single-screen theatre chain in India, aptly titled Salman Talkies', with six screens in Maharashtra to begin with. And it does not stop there. The actor, who is neck deep busy shooting for Kabir Khan's Tubelight right now, is building a plush private movie theatre for himself along with a sprawling bungalow! He has zeroed in on two locations in Mumbai, one in Bandra and the other in Juhu. Well, now that's luxury at it its best. Don't you think so? Mumbai Mirrorconfirmed this news and reported that Salman Khan is keen to start off his dream theatre project in Maharashtra with a bang in Diwali 2016, with the two major releases Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and Shivaay. Looks like Bhai is keen to pander to his core audience (the single-screen goers) with this chain of theatres, which will further expand to Uttar Pradesh.

A source reported to Mumbai Mirror, "He will be lending his name to a theatre chain to promote tax-free viewing. As of now, six single screens across Maharashtra have been roped in and more locations are being explored.Tickets for films at his theatres will be available at heavily subsidised rates and free for children. Salman will be launching each screen himself." Whoa, now that's definitely a good news to the filmi buffs across the state. Sallu has also done some serious number crunching for his business model, as he wants to challenge the escalating ticket prices in multiplexes. According to the tabloid, Salman Khan said, "If a film has to flop, the effect of the loss should be as little as possible. Jai Ho did a business of Rs 138 crore with tickets priced at Rs 200. On weekdays, the prices were down to Rs 100 but since we didn't publicise this fact, people said, Arey is that the only business?' Rs 138 crore is a huge, how many films touch that kind of a figure? Prem Ratan Dhan Payo made Rs 238 crore but since it didn't make as much money as Bajrangi Bhaijaan, the perception is that it flopped."

Well, we can't wait to watch movies at reasonable rates, all thanks to Salman Khan! Professionally things are really looking up for Sallu as he is all set to launch his Being Human jewellery line while gearing up for the next season of his hugely popular reality show's new season, Bigg Boss along with shooting for Kabir Khan's Tubelight! Stay tuned on India.comfor more updates about Salman Khan and let us know how excited you are to watch the next Bollywood film at Salman Talkies! We hope that it will be as paisa vasool an experience as the actor claims it to be!

How will this work economically? These single screens will have lower ticket rates , who will pay for it?

Sounds good but who will pay tax if not the audience? Also ticket prices without tax should be lesser prices compared to multiplexes.

It will be great if it opens and he should have one-two in Mumbai too. I hope he doesn't limit it to only his movies. LOL!
