I stopped coming to the forum simply for the fact that I don't watch the show anymore. I don't want to put myself through a show that will just make me cringe every two seconds. Just searching for the exact moment when Shantanu dance on Voot is chore enough. (But I can do that for Shantanu.) Lately, I don't even wait around for the marks because I know that would just piss me off.
But see here is the thing. I always thought Rangeela did all of this for TRP. The big T word. The one thing that ruins good shows and so I just gave up. I understood that this was a business venture and they would do everything necessary to maximise profit. See. I understood that. But then I took a look at the TRP charts of August. And surprise! JDJ is not even in the top 5 reality shows. I am saying reality shows here. I am not even including the daily soaps. The only reason I came up with is what I felt throughout the show. Slowly but surely, JDJ has lost heart . It has lost that little X factor that makes a good show. And all the glamour in the world cannot make up for the lack of heart.
We have a total contrast to the blitz and glamour of JDJ on another TV dance reality show that airs on a rival network. I am talking about Dance plus. It is very new and only on its season 2. It does not have a huge star cast on the judges panel. Infact there is only one Bollywood big shot on the show and that is Remo himself. All the judges are people we know, Dharmesh, Shakti and Punit ,people we have seen struggle and who have now achieved great heights and are stars. Relatable judges. Noone on the show, not even the anchor is a show piece and I honestly believe Raghav can give Manish a run for his money. ALL OF THEM CAN DANCE! JUDGES! ANCHOR! CONTESTANTS! EVERYONE! Seriously! The show has heart and the cringeworthy gimmicky moments are relatively minute compared to that of JDJ. The show has a real feel and does not feel very much made up at all.
The camaderie on the set is heartwarming. But apparently too much reality makes for bad TV right? Like by Rangeela's formula the show should flop? Here is the surprise. Dance plus is one of the top five shows at the moment in India, including daily soaps. And we all know how hard it is to beat the TRP rating of daily soaps. And it is the second most watched reality show on television after Kapil's show?
So it is definitely not like Indian audience will not appreciate a good show when given one. Infact this just proves that audience prefers authenticity when done well. So what is the deal rangeela? Are you purposely trying to sink your channel? Do you have a grudge against your own dance reality show? Why else would you move JDJ to such a ridiculous timing slot ?WHY?Why would you be biased against contestants that bring in the audiences??(I am still pissed about Shantanu's marks. Its not like the guy did not dance well. He is the freaking WOD champion!!! He won against Royal Family! Do you have any idea how good he has to be to win against them?! ALSO HE IS GOOD! I cannot stress that enough.) You guys honestly think a few shirtless dudes (one shirtless dude to be particular.) and one hot celebrity chirpy fangirl and a few steamy acts is enough to rake in the audiences? Seriously? It is no wonder you guys are a fail. You are constantly insulting the mental capability and taste of your audiences.
When exactly will you get a clue? What will it take for you to get a clue? I am seriously honeslty starting to believe that you guys don't want JDJ on your channel anymore? Is that it? What is it? I am lost.
