You said somewhere that you initially identified more with Sumo than Shravan... for me its become the opposite. Initially I understood Shravan more than Sumo. But in the wedding episodes I've really come to empathize with Sumo.

Its not that I don't empathize with Shravan anymore its just that I don't see him empathizing with Sumo's predicament. First of all he knows he was incredibly condescending the way he first offered her the PCT papers. After everything that happened he knows that she had good reason to not take his help. Lately his entire complaint has been about Sumo's inability to take help from anyone proving his father's doubt correct. Given that bias he has the ability to understand there was likely more to the story with her taking Aditya's help. But instead of finding out the truth, he let his own jealousy and insecurity blow up their relationship. Understandable but a mistake nonetheless.

Whereas Sumo, despite the tremendous pressure she has been under in this arc, has still cared for Shravan's emotions. The things he said in the PCT were incredibly hurtful, even then she had no desire to hurt him purposefully and she still gave him the benefit of the doubt of how hurt Shravan was. But she's in a terrible situation. Adi, Nirmala, Nanu, Ramnath and Shravan have given her very little choice in how she reacts. The whole story started with her trying to distance in herself from Shravan after Ramnath's blackmail. But she still had some faith that their relationship could withstand the pressure. But with how Shravan reacted, it would be hard for her to believe that anymore. If she goes to Shravan will he listen to her? Will he listen to her without having to explain the Ramnath thing?

+1. Ditto. Even I identified and empathized a lot with Shravan in the start. He was and IS my favorite character on this show. When people bashed him during Reunion party episodes, I wrote OS's to explain his POV. I still get where he comes from. But I also get Suman.

Most of us here are women. Cant we identify with the predicament she is in? Even the scenes with Aditya? She is uncomfortable but cant push him away or be totally rude because her Grandad has fixed her alliance with this guy. I totally get her situation. Even that moment when she saw Shravan was hurt, she felt bad and was thinking about what she should do.

Then just like Chicksoup said...she reminded herself that Shravan HATES her now, and does not want anything to do with her. She had to tell herself that she cannot melt for him anymore, coz he feels contempt for her. He physically recoiled from her a few times at the wedding. She is hurt by it but wont react. She really doesnt know what to do, because to be honest WHY would she think he will believe her about Ramnath blackmailing her?

She saw what happened when she tried to tell him his Mother left for reasons other than what his Dad said. What did Shravan say? That he will cut ALL ties with her if she speaks against his Dad. Now he HAS cut all ties with her, why on earth would she think he will believe anything she says?

For example:

Your Dad doesn't like me and blackmailed me into staying away from you.

Your Dad offered me a blank cheque to leave your life.

Aditya is your Mother's son, and Nanaji did drama to get me to agree to marriage with him.

Aditya offered me PCT with an investor backing.

He didnt listen to her when things were good between them. Will he listen to her now? So what empathy is she supposed to show and how is she supposed to act? My love for Shravan does not blind me to Suman's difficult plight. I understand her seemingly "Passive" approach is frustrating. But she is literally between a rock and a hard place. If she felt Shravan had ANY faith in her, maybe she would talk to him? But she knows he does not, so what is she to do? I think the way she is behaving is sort of what one would expect in this situation from a person in the position she is currently in.

I agree with you completely... Sumo is acting so stupid. 😡

Yes, Shravan is upset, but what do you expect, Suman? Sumo dismisses him at every turn, won't listen when he wants to share his feelings with her, is hurt when she puts someone else over Shravan (her best friend) and expects Shravan to be totally cool. Are you kidding me? 🤢

I know Sumo is in a tight spot, but she is not helping anyone by keeping secrets from Shravan. I feel sorry for her but I don't like the way she is keeping so much from him when all these secrets affect his life so significantly.

Shravan already feels betrayed. The least Suman can do is tell him what the situation is and why she agreed to marry Aditya. He deserves an explanation if not as her significant other then at least as her friend. Shravan is being too hard on her but her not trying to resolve issues are not helping matters. Imagine his hurt when he finds out what Ramnath did and who Aditya is to his sorry excuse of a mother (Nirmala). Sumo keeps hiding things and when things go wrong and Shravan has a painful outburst, she is the one who is wronged instead of Shravan? Wah! Chori pe seena zori !!!😕

As you said, where is Suman's sense of empathy and sympathy? I wonder.
The only reason I am still sticking to the show is Namik Paul and his stellar acting skills. Man, he is awesome!⭐️

you think this news will not rattle shravan any more? the mother who forgot to nurture him, showered his share of love on someone else's son - how will that not affect an abandoned son? and its not like nirmala left because of any fault of shravan! he was/is a victim of parental discord and has lost out on something as big as a mother's love - for reasons better known to the mother. remember during one of the interim tracks he told sumo that he wished his mother was dead - as atleast he would have known why she could never come back to him, even if she wanted? to me the last part is very significant - even if she wanted.

his mother conveniently moved on (prima facie) - as is sumo - and to the same person - this should spiral him out of control!

also, as for suman - it should not matter if she has control over him - but in her head, she should be dreading the consequences of the information on her once best friend (And apparent love of her life) - i do not see that - and that is disturbing.

To me it is all about one Q: Who is more important to Shravan?- Suman or Nirmala? When he has already lost Suman, how bad can the pain one he already has considered lost can inflict?

Believe me, they can use this track to bring out something beautiful, than use it for self destruction which is already set into motion...

And Suman has been told expressly NOT TO TELL SHRAVAN..Nirmal told her precisely that...Now, how to depend on her khokli dosti and trust she'd be the best person to break the news to Shravan!
