Empathy, where art thou?

When Sumo sets her eyes on Shravan's fallen face after the wedding announcement by a "certain Ahuja", I was thinking to myself that she's finally going to act on the disaster signal picked up by her empathy radar. Guess I was wrong! She goes into the kitchen right after and summarily dismisses the visual stimulus as noise and wonders that she is not able to get Shravan out of her mind.😳 There's no proper head or tail as to what she observes and what she understands eventually which makes me want to prise open her skull and put some electrodes and examine her brain!

YES it's understandable that the characters do not have the bird's eye view that the viewers are equipped with BUT Sumo's irrational behavior rankles so much so that I couldn't stop myself today from ranting on it! Sumo has the benefit of hindsight which Shravan LACKS completely! Sumo KNOWS about Ramnath's underhanded machinations, Shravan's inherent insecurities stemming from an abandoned mother and yet she can't put 2 and 2 together and figure out the mental state of Shravan? They are supposed to be childhood best friends with a deep rooted soul-connection (or so did the makers try to sell the show) and whose friendship has weathered the test of time and distance
It's such a pity that this character started off with a bang but fizzled out in NO TIME. The only constancy in this load of crap is Namik's spectacular thespian skills which keep getting better and better as each episode goes by.

I will attempt to answer your question, though you may not agree with me 😊
They are no longer themselves, fear of losing each other and hurt have changed them or at least they are blinded by those two factors.

"I'm afraid I can't explain myself, sir. Because I am not myself, you see?"

Sumo's character has lost all perspective!

And from what I've seen, most people around here are only sticking around for this nonsensical track because of Namik! The guy is truly stupendous!

Exactly!! I wonder whats wrong with the CVs and the writers. They are spoiling Sumo...and this time its worse than ever!! It's a sad state of affairs that the girl can't put 2 and 2 together. She remembered he dismissed her friendship but didn't remember why he did so, Because he was hurt that she took help from someone else than him. DAMMIT! How much brains it needs to figure out that a person is upset or hurt. Especially when he clearly displays the same and speaks aloud the reason of it as well. The way she dismissed his hurt it was really sad and cold.

I don't agree. Why should Suman show empathy towards him after all the verbal abuse hurled by Shravan. Just because he cries like a baby... he gets all the sympathy...
Was he empathetic towards her when PCT was broken? Though he was not directly responsible... but he knew that it was one of the dearest things to her...and it was destroyed...
He didn't even talk to her about it... and went ahead to show his generosity by offering her the land as charity...
He started this misunderstanding...

I am joining your club! Totally here for the awesomeness called Namik! Nothing else makes sense. The plot is more twisted than my large intestine ! Aditya was charming initially , now he is plain annoying. But what the heck, sumo deserves him totally !

Yes...he is responsible for the mess
But, there are times when you also hear a voice from your heart that this boy has also done so many things even when not asked for it...So, is there a reason why he could have misbehaved and too so badly...
And one more thing Sumo has wider knowledge than him...he has no knowledge about Sumo being blackmailed, about Aditya offering her the pct with an investor story, about Nanu pressurizing her to get married...
Knowledge is precious and how one uses it can change and transform anyone's life

I think they are both in pain. If you saw the episode... you might have noticed how he showed revulsion towards her in two or more instances.

If that fight at PCT had not happened Sumo would have talked to Shravan before promising Nanu. But given his utter contempt of her followed by the PCT she is in limbo too. Unlike him she does not have the luxury to wallow in her pain... She needs to keep her act together.

She does hate the idea of Adithya... and Shravan's reaction to her is goading her into making that wrong decision.

Both are in pain both are right and wrong. Solution is communication. But if that happens and all problems are resolved the show would end 😉

You may not agree with me... guess we are entitled to our views.

Indra, I think CVs will cover this part by Monday. Sumo would try to talk to the Shravan V3.

But given the state he is in... its better to talk to the wall.

On a lighter note... any dragon ballz fans out here? He reminds me of all the power versions in that!!

Wonder when we will get V4.
