Adrija Roy says 'Youtube culture' is now the reality: 'We have started taking recommendations from Youtubers'

Anupamaa actor Adrija Roy feels that algorithm-led content and influencers have started to shape people's beliefs and opinions. Talking about YouTube, she said, "YouTube culture is very real today. People are always scrolling through YouTube on their phones and are surely influenced by it."

"The reason is simple: we all have phones in our hands, we like to watch content, and influencer marketing is today’s reality," she added.

She stressed that algorithm-driven content is shaping blind trust among viewers. She said, "Audiences trust influencers quite easily. Everything is digital now, and the way they explain things seems very convincing, so people believe them easily."

Adrija mentioned that YouTube has become a go-to solution provider. She said, "If you start watching health-related reels, Instagram will show you more health-related content. The law of attraction in marketing works here. Earlier, we used to take advice and recommendations from friends and family. Now we have started taking recommendations from YouTubers."

But she stressed that the audience should be careful. "One should be very careful and should not trust everything that is marketed blindly. We must teach the current generation, and also future generations, how to choose the content they watch or follow wisely," Adrija ended.
