“He Didn’t Know How To Act”
“A human being focuses on their positive points, but if someone knows their limitations this is my problem and works on them that person goes a long way. The prime example is John Abraham,” Rimi said. She followed this up with a striking admission, saying, “In the beginning of his career, he was a model and didn't know how to act. People used to talk, but he didn't say anything.”
Explaining how he navigated that phase, she added, “He picked roles where he looked proper and didn't have to act much mostly action films. He did things that made him look good so people couldn't question what he was doing.” Praising his approach, Rimi stated, “He was a very intelligent actor I must say.” She also highlighted gradual growth, saying, “Dheere dheere karte karte insaan acting seekh hi jaata hai (slowly slowly a human being learns).”
“He Was Strategically Correct”
Rimi further explained how experience eventually sharpened Abraham’s skills. “You gain experience in front of the camera after a while. After that he took up roles that gave him a chance to act,” she said. Stressing that her opinion comes from personal familiarity, she added, “I know him personally and I feel he is a very intelligent actor.”
She also credited him for expanding beyond acting. According to Rimi, Abraham evolved into a businessman, entered film production, and delivered successful films that also carried credibility, proving that calculated choices paid off over time.
During the same conversation, Rimi spoke about her own journey after stepping away from films and building a new life in Dubai. Praising the city’s inclusivity, she said, “Dubai is very welcoming. They think about everyone and the city's major focus is on making people's lives better easier and more comfortable.”
Rimi Sen, remembered for her work in popular comedies, action films, and reality television, may no longer be active in Bollywood, but her candid industry observations are clearly still powerful enough to spark debate and dominate headlines.
