The basic premise was itself so promising - that Swara despite her strong misgivings about Sanskaar being a murderer, she is open to logical persuasion! Such a beautiful simple explanation for the entire mess. But then when did logic or common sense prevail in the SR world - so it is better we simply ignore it.
Swara's dilemma of trying to 'listen' to her family in the backdrop of the horrifying image of Sanskaar shooting at her, was resolved quite smoothly - a few conversations with the ACP who was both a neutral person as well as an unrefuted authority for stating the facts as there were. Thankfully Swara did sway to this logical persuasion but that brought in another dilemma - she is married to a stranger who though very nice is certainly not her idea of a dream husband. And though Sanskaar is not haughty and standoff (why is it that all of us at some point or the other prefer a man such as this whereas the true mark of a man is someone like Sanskaar - guess the future generation of girls would have a wider spectrum of men to choose from once Sanskaar is added to this list) she certainly occupies his every waking moment and every sleeping second.
Swara commits the classic mistake that all of us do, when we read about their public persona and visible success stories, we often extend our perceptions gleaned from such readings to their personal avatars. Oh, boy, she was in for such a surprise! Sanskaar, the ever sanskaari gentleman says he would respect her wishes and does it - so much so that she feels a little disappointed, hurt, unsure, apprehensive that he did not touch her nor even try to kiss her. She must have been so confused, never would she have expected a man, married to her, would keep his distance from her because she asked for it. (I am sure men like this are rare, if actually not non-existent, in the real world). And for Swara who never actually had a loving male figure in her life, her image of men would be all the more warped.
This would have caused so much confusion for her, especially since now her heart no longer had those ''khooni' barriers' drawn around - the growing attraction for him - her heart knew him though her mind was still reserved. And then she comes to what she thinks is the brilliant reason for her attraction - she is obligated to feel that way since she is married to him. Huh! Way to go, girl - I am sure her heart must have been rolling in silent laughter at the inanities of her mind.
Thank God for that business trip that suddenly called him away - that caused quite a bit of distress - so much so that her mind recalls a hazy memory of Sanskaar telling her " mat jao na...main jeeyunga kaise?" (that was such a dreamy moment - I watched in on the loop for quite some days) but before she could really act on what that memory suggested, her mind sank into that mire of confusion.
And then when she starts missing him - it is herself in two minds - half her mind, the emotional one, has been won over by her heart - that is the one which must have been saying 'so what if you don't remember him for the past one year, she could miss the one she has known for the past few weeks?' And then it is this same emotional mind which is petulant as to how Sanskaar could miss her first class?
I so loved the cosmic connection here - it was like she asks that question and he materialises in front of her eyes- in his most handsome avatar (I could so imagine him, I gasped and my heart missed a beat - did you have to make him drop dead gorgeous - I have enough heartbreak with the Sanskaar I write😡)
Her reaction was similar though instantaneously she notes his tired face and immediately connects the dots to come to the conclusion that Sanskaar must have really exhausted himself so that he could finish off a week's work in a little more that half that time, all because he wanted to be there for her. It is a such a huge thing for her, him wanting to be there for her even though she had actually not even bothered to tell him as to when her first class would be. He came because he had overhead that same in a casual conversation, to which he accidently overhead, a couple of weeks ago.
Swara disbelief is quite natural, how can you believe that someone cares for you so much that they remember which was not mentioned to them, something that they come to know by chance? But then that is love, right, when even the smallest things mean so much to us, how can we not remember when they gave us so many wonderful memories of days gone by and beautiful hope of days to come. That is what Swara realises, even if she cannot remember being in love before, she is in love with him now. And even if her memories are gone, they had dreams for tomorrow. And hope that someday, her memories would be back. It was indeed her platinum day of love.
It is a beautiful story - of the victory of love, of hope and dreams. It truly brings to life what the ad says "Platinum day of love is the day that a couple discovers real love that begins and never ends. It marks the realisation of true love that is everlasting."
On an aside - I loved the idea but never the visual ads - though some of the stories which the viewers wrote were amazing - but this is the best. Perfect combination, of SwaSan and you.
lots of love,
