Adrija Roy is seen as Raahi in Rajan Shahi and Deepa Shahi's Anupamaa. The actress has been winning the audience's heart with her powerful performances, but a recent sequence has made them fall in love with her all over again. In a scene called one of the most talked-about sequences, she delivered an outstanding performance in which she imitated the show's titular character, and it has struck an instant chord with viewers. The scene stood out not just for her perfect dialogue delivery and humor but also for presenting the emotional undercurrent Anupamaa is known for.

A Scene That Became an Instant Audience Favourite

Prem calls Sabki favorite Anupamaa Joshi, who always gives five-page lectures, and Raahi comes on the stage. She apologises to everyone for not greeting them sooner after she came on stage, then wishes them "Jai Shri Krishna," "Good Evening," and "Namaste." To this, Vasundhra asks why she wished them thrice; Raahi then slips into a serious mode and stops her from finishing her sentence. She then switches to Anupamaa's shudh-Hindi mode and asks why a woman can't wish in three different ways. And then she goes, "Main teen baar bolun, chaar baar bolun, yahan bolun, wahan bolun, sote hue bolun, khade hokar bolun, isko bolun, usko bolun, bolun ya na bolun, idhar bolun, udhar bolun, jidhar bhi bolun, aapko kya?"

Everyone, including Anupamaa, bursts out laughing at this, while Raahi holds on to her braid, as Anupamaa does in real life. This is a powerful sign that not only symbolizes that Anupamaa is enough in herself but also represents her strength, determination, and resilience. Raahi even chose a cotton saree with a three-fourth sleeve blouse and was also carrying a bag just like Anupamaa. Though she is Anupamaa's adopted daughter, she is a picture-perfect copy of Anupamaa. And kudos to Adrija for performing the scene with so much grace and authenticity.

Adrija Roy on the Challenge Behind the Performance

Talking about the scene exclusively to India Forums, Adrija Roy revealed, "That scene was really exciting for me, but also a little challenging. It needed a lot of observation because Anupamaa isn’t just about delivering dialogues — it’s about the pauses, the body language, and the emotions behind them. I’ve always observed Rupali maam closely, and just watching her perform taught me so much about adding depth, even in the smallest moments. We had a great time shooting the sequence, but there was also a responsibility to do it right. Finding the right balance between humour and emotion was important. When the audience connected with it, it made all the effort feel completely worth it, and the appreciation meant a lot to me."

Social Media Applause and a Marker of Growth

Social media is full of fans praising Adrija for her timing and attention to detail. She captured Anupamaa's mannerism without making it look staged. It also did not take away the respect Anupamaa's character deserved; instead, it made it clear that Anupamaa inspires people as she goes. And for Adrija, the scene was a reminder of her growth as an actor.
